GOSSIP FOR 2: Bittersweet Cake Filled With Juicy Details Now we’re not ones to gossip, but when it comes to the latest New York City sweet treat, we just can’t help ourselves. Julie Hinault, a New York based French food designer, and Olivier Dessyn, pastry chef and owner of Mille Feuille Bakery Café in Greenwich Village, are debuting their original collaborative project GOSSIP for 2 next month. The first cake of its kind, designed for two people to share and inspired by the conversations we reserve for very close friends. The concept initiated in France, while Hinault was writing her master thesis, when she started questioning the relationship between food, conversation, and the special status of dessert. As part of her research, Hinault observed couples, friends, and families sharing meals in restaurants, coffee shops, or at home. She witnessed the inseparable link between conversation and food; and the importance of course-order.
Public – fuseproject In the new landscape of work, technology enables us to work anywhere and interact virtually. Despite this, people continue to work out of the office, because they see the value of face-to-face interaction. Collaboration is a key factor to success, and yet office furniture has not evolved to harness the potential of these interactions. That’s what inspired PUBLIC Office Landscape – our new collection for Herman Miller. PUBLIC transforms every part of the office – including individual desks – into places for collaboration. Visually uniform and modular surfaces, storage, and seating can be configured into a broad range of settings that encourage fluid transitions between collaborative and focused work, and elegantly fill any office space. Why Product Thinking is the next big thing in UX Design Uncover the jobs the product is hired for A product has a core user experience, which is basically the reason the product exists. It fulfills a need or solves a problem people have. By that, it becomes meaningful and provides a certain value. If the problem is non-existant, or the solution doesn’t fit to the problem, the product becomes meaningless and people won’t use the product; which in turn leads to the downfall of the product.

Synapse mind-controlled toy car for ADHD concentration training Dutch Design Week 2013: Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Alejo Bernal wants to help people improve their concentration spans by controlling a toy car with their minds. To drive the vehicle, users wear an electroencephalography (EEG) headset that measures electrical activity within the neurones of the brain and converts these fluctuations into signals that control the toy car. "As you try to focus, the increased light intensity of the vehicle indicates the level of attention you have reached," explained Bernal.

I had similar problems as described just recently with Windows 7 of CPU at 100%. For example, my Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service was hogging a lot of CPU, also saw Task Manager at way high CPU whilst it was open, had Firefox and some other applications maxing out the CPU for no apparent reason, I've also seen the HD Audio process hogging CPU. I stopped many Services and disabled a number of items from startup. In the end, the problem seems to be because I had recently changed to the 'High Performance' power plan, which in Control Panel > Power Options > Select a Power Plan > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings > Processor Power Management > Minimum Processor State > Plugging in (which is what I have most of the time), the setting was set to 100%.
