The Best Sites For Learning About The World’s Different Cultures I’ve compiled several “The Best…” lists that sites where you can learn about the geography, data, languages, and holidays of different countries around the world. Those resources are important, but I think it’s like learning the words, but not the music, of a song. So I thought I’d develop a separate list just focused on helping students learn about the cultures of different countries, and would love to hear additional suggestions. But if it’s not to your liking, follow the example of my cousin in Aix-en-Provence. After the birth of two sons she needed to shed a few pounds, but didn’t love leeks. A neighbor suggested a variation of “magical leek soup" with the “trick” of hiding the leek among other flavorful and healthful ingredients.

In the past decades, the general principles enunciated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights have given life to a body of law: international human right law. Among the key documents that expand on the UN UDHR are the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, which, together with the UDHR, form the so-called “International Bill of rights.” Take a look at the ‘core’ human rights instruments and at the UN bodies set up to protect human rights and monitor their implementation.

You might look into checking out one of my current favorite apps, MyFitnessPal. MyFitnessPal is a free app that allows users to track daily food intake and exercise. The large nutrition database includes over 5 million foods, which makes it easy for users to analyze nutrients, calories, vitamins, track patterns and find out what their diet is missing or what needs to be adjusted.
Where to Find Good Educational Videos There’s a right and a wrong way to use videos in the classroom. Not all videos are primed for instructional use, and not all instruction lends itself to video. However, pairing a great video with the tools students need to engage with it can lead to a deeper understanding of or alternate perspective on what’s being taught.
