Lists of Note

Lists of Note
Dear All, With your help, Lists of Note is soon to become a book—something I've been itching to bring to life for almost as long as I can remember, and something I've been busy researching and writing for many months. Just as the Letters of Note book is filled with interesting letters, Lists of Note will boast a fascinating array of lists created by a wide selection of people, reproduced in facsimile where possible. The book will be beautiful and crafted by Here Design, the same talented bunch who worked their magic on Letters of Note, and it will be another satisfyingly hefty object boasting the same dimensions as its predecessor. It will contain 125 lists written through the centuries, from as early as the 26th Century BC, to as recent as a few years ago. While many will be written by everyday folk, there will hopefully be lists written by such people as:

This list collects only scenarios that have been called a paradox by at least one source and have their own article.

Can Reading Make You Happier? Several years ago, I was given as a gift a remote session with a bibliotherapist at the London headquarters of the School of Life, which offers innovative courses to help people deal with the daily emotional challenges of existence. I have to admit that at first I didn’t really like the idea of being given a reading “prescription.” I’ve generally preferred to mimic Virginia Woolf’s passionate commitment to serendipity in my personal reading discoveries, delighting not only in the books themselves but in the randomly meaningful nature of how I came upon them (on the bus after a breakup, in a backpackers’ hostel in Damascus, or in the dark library stacks at graduate school, while browsing instead of studying). But the session was a gift, and I found myself unexpectedly enjoying the initial questionnaire about my reading habits that the bibliotherapist, Ella Berthoud, sent me.

Easy Change Floating Photo Wall I'm a part-time professional photographer and I love taking pictures! Sometimes I work really hard to take an idea in my head and turn it into a finished picture. Like everyone else, I share my pictures online with friends and family, but I really want to display some of my images at home. Typically when you want to print out an image to display in your home you can do one of two things. 1) Print your photo online or at a local store like Wal-mart for as little money as possible, usually a few cents to a few dollars, and throw it in a cheap frame for another few dollars. 10 Myers-Briggs Type Charts for Pop Culture Characters The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) is an instrument to define your personality along four parameters: (I) Introversion vs. (E) Extroversion, (N) Intuiting vs. (S) Sensing, (T) Thinking vs. (F) Feeling, and (J) Judging vs.

The City that Ended Hunger A city in Brazil recruited local farmers to help do something U.S. cities have yet to do: end hunger. posted Feb 13, 2009 “To search for solutions to hunger means to act within the principle that the status of a citizen surpasses that of a mere consumer.”CITY OF BELO HORIZONTE, BRAZIL In writing Diet for a Small Planet, I learned one simple truth: Hunger is not caused by a scarcity of food but a scarcity of democracy. But that realization was only the beginning, for then I had to ask: What does a democracy look like that enables citizens to have a real voice in securing life’s essentials?
