Sound Bites Growing up in the late '70s/ early '80s, I spent a lot of time in the car with my parents and the only radio station we could ever agree on was WRON in my hometown of Lewisburg, WV. The FM station was easy listening (way more horrible than the Lite FMs of today) and it's AM version which played the hits. And at the time, the hits were all pretty mellow. Barry Gibb was writing for everyone, the Doobie Brothers were huge, "You Light Up My Life" was unavoidable, and the Little River Band was the WV-approved version of Steely Dan. Despite the path my musical taste has taken since, I still have a soft spot for soft rock. (Yes, I own England Dan & John Ford Coley's Nights Are Forever on vinyl.)

Birth Control Methods: Spermicide The history of birth control shows us that spermicides have been around in some form since 1850BC, making them one of the oldest methods of contraception around. Many women and men like to use spermicide, either alone or in combination with some other form of birth control, because it is relatively inexpensive, easy to use and can be purchased without a prescription at a pharmacy. However, it is not a perfect method of birth control and can even increase your chances of contracting certain sexually transmitted diseases (also known as sexually transmitted infections). How Spermicides Works Spermicide can be purchased as a cream or jelly that is applied onto a diaphragm or cervical cap or directly into the vagina via a special applicator.

Stumble Upon Stumble Upon is an application that lets you uncover websites related to your interests, as suggested by people with similar mental illnesses to yourself. It's also guaranteed to destroy any semblance of a sleeping pattern you had upon installation. So, what is it? Stumble Upon was created in 2001 by Garrett Camp, Geoff Smith, Justin LaFrance and Eric Boyd, who all agreed that they quite liked the internet and had too much free time on their hands. As of 2010, Stumble's community has reached 10 million members; which is actually bigger than the projected population of New York.

Goodbye to All That: Why Obama Matters - The Atlantic (December 2007) Is Iraq Vietnam? Who really won in 2000? Which side are you on in the culture wars? These questions have divided the Baby Boomers and distorted our politics. One candidate could transcend them. Pill changes women's taste in men Taking the contraceptive pill appears to change women's taste in men. Psychologists have found that women who are taking the pill tend to fancy macho types with strong jaw lines and prominent cheekbones. However, women who are not taking that form of contraception seem to be more likely to go for more sensitive types without traditionally masculine features.

Karma Police "Karma Police" is a song by English alternative rock band Radiohead from their 1997 third studio album OK Computer. The song's title and lyrics derive from an in-joke among the band, referring to the Hindu theory of cause and effect, known as karma. "Karma Police" was released as the second single from OK Computer, and became a commercial success, charting at number eight on the UK Singles Chart and number fourteen on the US Hot Modern Rock Tracks. Creative people 'luckier in love' If you are hoping to improve your love life, it may be wise to develop artistic traits, researchers suggest. The more creative a person is, the more sexual partners they are likely to have, UK investigators have found. Artists and poets had an average of four to 10 sexual partners, compared to three for non-creative types, Newcastle and Open University teams discovered. Creative people could be displaying the "positive side" of personality traits seen in schizophrenia, they say. 'Schizotypal' traits Researcher Dr Daniel Nettle explained: "Creative types lead a bohemian lifestyle and tend to act on more sexual impulses and opportunities, often purely for experience's sake, than the average person would.
