Avez-vous entendu parler du coworking ? Ce nouveau mode de travail né aux États-Unis vise à proposer aux travailleurs indépendants un espace de travail flexible et partagé avec d’autres professionnels aux compétences diverses. Le coworking prend de l’élan en Afrique avec la création d’une dizaine d’espaces de ce type en quelques années. Dans son ensemble, le continent semble particulièrement adapté à ces nouvelles pratiques : génératrices d’innovation et porteuses de développement, elles sont susceptibles de modifier de l’intérieur le fonctionnement de l’économie africaine.Note de l’éditeur DESKMAG : Les écrivains, Dave Bunnell and Jeannine Van der Linden produisent ici un historique détaillé des incubateurs et des espaces de coworking et montrent l’émergence d’espaces hybrides au croisement entre ces deux types de lieux. Un réalisateur grisonnant est absorbé par la lecture d'un scénario, tandis que deux tables plus loin, une artiste-peintre et un jeune créateur de start-up ont le nez plongé dans leurs ordinateurs portables. Dans ce café berlinois du très touristique quartier Mitte, le mot de passe pour se connecter à l’internet est scotché sur le comptoir, et des multiprises traînent sous les tables: les trois-quarts des clients boivent leur café face à un laptop, un iPad ou un bloc-notes. Le Sankt Oberholz est depuis son ouverture en 2005 le repaire favori des travailleurs indépendants qui fuient la solitude de leur appartement. « Autrefois, c'était le seul café où l'on pouvait apporter son ordinateur sans que tout le monde vous regarde bizarrement », explique Ansgar Oberholz, le patron. Pour être sûrs d'avoir une bonne place, certains clients sont déjà là le matin quelques minutes avant l'ouverture, à 8 heures.

Le dernier Tuttle paris a eu lieu le 12 Mai dernier chez Next & Coworking grâce à Hayat Outahar (en charge de la stratégie de communication chez Next & Formation et également Présidente de Femmes Entrepreneurs ). Le concept est clair et simple, à savoir des espaces libres (de coworking) pendant la semaine entre 18h et 22h (avec confirmation de présence en amont). Ce fut un grand plaisir d'être rassemblés là-bas, à quelques pas de l'Arc de Triomphe et dans une ambiance très détendue ! Le Next & Coworking est une illustration concrète de marketing "intelligent", basé sur l'expérience et l'expérimentation aussi pour encourager un bouche-à-oreille positif.

L'idée de coworking regroupe deux notions, à la fois celle d'un espace de travail partagé mais aussi celle d'un réseau de travailleurs encourageant l'échange et l'ouverture. À la suite de Brad Neuberg constatant que certains employés préféraient travailler au café plutôt qu'au bureau pour des questions de convivialité et de manque d'espace, la cantine a décidé de favoriser cette forme de travail, encourageant les échanges et la créativité, en imaginant cet espace, un troisième lieu entre bureau et maison.
