Creative Reuse of Paper : Scrapbooking Affirmations

http://ideasforscrapbookcenter.com/creative-reuse-of-paper-scrapbooking-affirmations/ Was doing some “stumbling” yesterday…dangerous activity that. Anyway, on the heels of yesterday mornings paper storage post, I thought this was a wonderful way to not only use up some scrap paper, but also a really positive way to get some scrapbooking affirmations into my life. You don’t even need to do affirmations, you can do inspiring quotes, or little activities that give you joy. [Update 9/24/12] Wow….I’m not sure why, but this page has gone seriously viral. Thank you all for visiting. I was starting to worry that I was just a lone voice in the wilderness.

http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-to-make-3d-paper-ball-ornaments.html I love 3D paper things. Love. And when I saw a little picture of what appeared to be paper balls in a CB2 catalog, I thought, "I am going to make those."

How to make 3D paper ball ornaments

Twinkling lights on park trees and glass balls hung in shop windows, little by little it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in New York City! I know some people can be a bit Grinch-y about the commercialism of the holiday season, but it’s hard to resist the special feeling of Christmas in the city. It’s contagious! http://www.purlbee.com/felt-star-pendant-and-tree-top/

Felt Snow Ball Ornaments

Twinkling lights on park trees and glass balls hung in shop windows, little by little it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in New York City! I know some people can be a bit Grinch-y about the commercialism of the holiday season, but it’s hard to resist the special feeling of Christmas in the city. It’s contagious! Inspired by this burgeoning holiday cheer, we’re starting to feather our holiday nests with these lovely felt ornaments. Laura designed an elegant 3-dimensional Felt Stars that will look equally beautiful hung from a doorway or perched atop a tree.
Somehow my gift wrapping session turned into a snowflake cutting session. I wanted to try making some snowflakes that look a little more 3D than the usual version. These are made with computer paper, a stapler, double-sided tape, and a scissors. If you've got standard staples that are 1/2" wide, accordian-fold a sheet of computer paper so that the pleats are 8 1/2" wide by about 3/4". http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2011/12/diy-paper-snowflake-decorations.html
