Felted Dryer Balls Tutorial

Hanging them on a clothesline is the best! But if you don't have 7 days of sunshine like we do here in California, these dryer balls will help you save money, use less chemical-y fabric softener, and save on energy. These 100% felted wool dryer balls will speed your drying time and are just fun to make! You will need: Wool roving and/or 100% wool yarn An old pair of tights or nylons First, take your yarn or roving and create a small ball: Next, take your roving and break into small strands. Wrap the strands tightly around your yarn ball.

Feel free to snazz them up a bit and add bits of decorative roving around in a design. Put the ball into your tights (or nylons) and knot between balls. Wash in washer on the hottest cycle. Shirt to Summer Scarf Refashion

Creating a summer scarf from an old shirt... This was a cute tank top that was too small & didn't fit right, but I loved the pattern and lace! I've seen some of these sheer ruffled summery scarfs that I've been longing to add to my wardrobe. Fun to wear, perfect to soften up a tank top... I added a cool pin to hold the scarf in place or you can simply twist the elastic. Thrift Store Refashion: Fall Infinity Scarf! - It Comes Full Circle. Over the course of a few cold winter evenings, I cosied up in front of the telly with a seam ripper and a needle and thread.... This coat was a bargain from TK Maxx last winter. I negotiated them down to £35 because a load of buttons were missing. (Which was easily remedied when I got it home with a few oversized vintage buttons from my stash). I loved the fabric, pattern and colour mix, heck I even liked the style of the coat.

Amazing what a few simple alterations can make, no? As I said, I started by seam ripping out the collar. The original collar was sandwiched between the shell and the facing. The next stage was shortening the sleeves and hem. Also worth noting that accuracy is important on the kick pleat opening at the back if they are to meet as accurately after I'm finished as they did before.... Same process on the sleeve hems. The next few stages apply to the sleeves and hem. Unpick the lining and peel it back out of the way. Charity Shop Chic. Adventures of Lauren. The Chronicles of Crafting. One Red Shoe: Refashion: Orange and Gray Dress. Let me just start out by stating that I love, love, love it when friends unload their hand-me-downs on me.

Every so often someone I know will ask me if I want their old clothes, and soon I'm hauling garbage bags from the back of a station wagon to the trunk of my car. When I get home, it's like Christmas. This summer, a coworker of mine passed along two full bags of clothes from J. Jill. She was a bit hesitant at first, since the clothes were the wrong size for me (too big). The first thing to catch my eye was a long, grey, soft, knit dress.

This project included lots of careful measuring and trial-and-error. So the first thing to do was to cut off the bottom of the dress. Minnado's House. Men's button down shirt Refashion! My boyfriend had this shirt he no longer wanted because he "didn't like the light buttons on the shirt". So it is all mine!! Yes! I evened the bottom hem, cut underneath the arms to create the skirt. Lottie Pullover. "Let me preface this by saying I LOVE sweaters, and I was really looking forward to trying on the Lottie pullover, but wasn't sure how the sizing was going to be. Online it seems to be comfy and oversized, and the material looked very soft and the colorblocking interesting. What more could I possibly want? The material was of good quality, thinner than I expected and not as soft, but still quite substantial.

I picked up an L to accommodate my bust (34E) and went to the fitting room. The unfortunate thing for me with the Lottie pullover is that it didn't really give me the look I was going for. Crafterhours - sleeping babes. crafting moms.
