http://yokeywork.blogspot.com/2010/03/maxime-quolin-avantgarde.html "Avantgarde is some kind of milestone project, because I wanted it to be a symbol of me taking a step forward as a graphic designer and as an artist. I tried to apply a very specific mood with the composition and the colours. In some way the artworks can be related as the relationship between nature and humanity, but I didn't want to have a very specific message in artworks, so people can interpret it their way. Therefore I think that's the closest thing to "art" that I've ever done. Technically, I didn't use very specific techniques, I just tried a lot of different things, removed the failure and kept the good stuff." - Maxime Quolin (Graphic Designer from Liege, Belgium)

De origen polaco, este ilustrador utilizó su obra como arma para combatir el fascismo durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, siendo calificado como Eleanor Roosevelt como "un hombre luchador".

Steve Simpson's Illustration Portfolio

For a while, as a kid I was fascinated by sign language and spent hours learning it with a friend. To us, it was a secret language only we could understand. I think my best illustrations always have a element of the unpredictable about them, a serendipitous input. Something that wouldn’t normally be associated with the subject. While roughing out my thoughts on the Revolution illustration I’d photographed my own hand (in the traditional fist of defiance pose) for reference. As I sketched away my mind flashed back to the bookmark I’d used to learn sign language as a kid. http://stevesimpson.com/17721/portfolio
