Quite Interesting. Troy in England?

Quite Interesting

According to Dutch-born writer Iman Wilkens, the Trojan War actually took place in England. He suggests that Homer based his story on an earlier oral tale from Northern Europe in which an area of Southern England was attacked by Celts who wanted control of the tin mines there. Wilkens suggests that Troy was located in the Gog Magog Hills near Cambridge. Furthermore, the area Homer called ‘Crete’ was Scandinavia, ‘Sparta’ was in Spain and ‘Lesbos’ was actually the Isle of Wight. The Iliad’s warriors use horses in battle but the Greeks always fought on foot until around the 3rd century ad. The Iliad doesn’t mention ‘Greeks’ anywhere.

The Science of Deduction. The blog of Dr. John. H. Watson. 28th March The Blind Banker It all began with Sherlock and I visiting the bank.

The blog of Dr. John. H. Watson

We'd been called in by an old school friend of his. The man was a banker and pretty much what you'd expect. Someone had broken into their offices and sprayed graffiti across a painting. Sherlock worked out that we needed to speak to one of the bankers, ▓▓▓▓▓ ▓▓▓ ▓▓▓▓. But Sherlock, of course, had noticed from every little thing in the flat that ▓▓▓ ▓▓▓▓ was left-handed and that the gun was in his right hand. Then, almost as if to confirm that what Sherlock was saying was true, there was another murder. To cut a long story short, I found myself at the police station, reading ▓▓▓▓▓ ▓▓▓▓▓'s diary.

The woman at the museum, Soo Lin, was really quite brilliant. And which is then what happened to her. So we worked out that the smuggling ring was trading in Chinese antiquities. And, meanwhile, I went on a date. We found ourselves being held at gunpoint by an opera singer and her assassins. View all Entries.
