Architecture and Urban Design (Paris) - at University of Kent, Canterbury, United Kingdom

The MAUD at Paris proposes a particular perspective of the city, combining the strength of architectural history and theory with the study of the contemporary city, to provide an understanding of architecture and urban design that addresses the dynamic conditions of cities today. You examine the trajectory of cities’ development, particularly in relation to the Enlightenment, industrialisation, the role of Modernisms and the conditions of the 21st century. In doing so, you draw from the wider context of humanities, cultural studies, the visual arts, drama, film and other media that influence the formation of an urban landscape. Global Politics. Digital publishing: how the publishing job spec is changing

If so, the publishing industry needs you. Photograph: Martin Argles for the Guardian Flicking through the recruitment pages of the Bookseller last week, I came across an advert that reminded me just how much things have changed in the publishing industry. "Are you a hands-on digital maverick and guru? ", it asked. Until recently, this was not a question you would expect publishing companies to ask potential candidates. Today, though, this question is not an unreasonable one. Forward-thinking publishers no longer simply equate content with books. Making the transition from the traditional to the digital world requires publishers to recruit and retain talent with skills that are largely unfamiliar to them.

So what does this mean for graduates seeking to enter the publishing industry? Publishing executives must also understand that the industry is no longer an island. Few individuals possess such a complete range of skills.
