Velcoff Drinks: A Booze Blog. Miss Vicky’s Fleurie I’m continuing the Women in Wine series with Anne-Victoire Jocteur Monrozier, the Beaujolais-bred wine ambassador better known by her oenophile fans as Miss Vicky.

Velcoff Drinks: A Booze Blog

Daughter of Gilles Monrozier, winemaker at Château des Moriers, Miss Vicky has brought a brilliance for branding to her family’s winemaking operation. She’s done some excellent wine writing, launched a powerful social media campaign, and contributed to the creation of some absolutely beautiful Beaujolais. Château des Moriers, Mme Monrozier’s family estate, is based in Fleurie, the northernmost of the ten Crus of Beaujolais, where red wines are made from the Gamay grape.

Miss Vicky’s wine lineup include Beaujolais Nouveau, Beaujolais Villages, Mâcon, Provence, and Bordeaux, but it’s her Fleurie I’ll be drinking tonight. Miss Vicky Wine et Les Gouttes de Dieu - ボジョレーヌーボーとレ・グット・ド・ディユ : KSL paris journal <パリ通信 - KLS> Drinks for Thanksgiving. I grew up celebrating Thanksgiving in the US and I’ve had the privilege of celebrating it with Americans and non-Americans in France and England for most of my adult life.

Drinks for Thanksgiving

Experience has taught me that the only thing that really matters on Thanksgiving is being together with others while you eat and drink like a grizzly bear preparing for a long cycle of hibernation. The most enduring symbol of Thanksgiving is the cornucopia or “horn of plenty”. This is not the moment for rules or self-restriction! Most people consider Thanksgiving to be the quintessential American holiday. Others consider it to be nothing more than America’s most important creation myth, the story of a whitewashed harmony between the coloniser and the colonised. Four centuries later, nearly every American celebrates Thanksgiving in some way, regardless of religion or socio-economic class.

Believe it or not, turkey isn’t always involved. There aren’t any rules, and there shouldn’t be any rules for the drinks, either. Mâcon-VillagesBu et Approuvé - Bazar Magazin. Les vins de Vicky Vicky est fille de viticulteurs à Fleurie, dans le Beaujolais.

Miss Vicky Wine Chateau Ballan-Larquette Bordeaux Clairet from Smiling Grape Clairet is a dark rosé style of wine originating in Bordeaux; it is the source of the word "claret", albeit that now refers to red, rather than rosé, Bordeaux.

The Cambridge Wine Blogger: Miss Vicky Wine - Clairet, 2013

This Chateau Ballan-Larquette Clairet from Miss Vicky Wine, stocked by Smiling Grape, was selected by a jury of 15 bloggers from France. Dark rosé coloured, it is all about fruit and acidity, with lots of ripe, juicy red berries, freshness and a hint of minerality. Pleasant in a fruity sort-of-way, there is nothing to offend, nothing challenging or complex; it's the sort of unassuming wine serve to guests on arrival or have with casual friends. Serve as an aperitif, with salmon starters or as a picnic wine. Provided for review. Other related articlesMateus Expressions 2013Two Sophisticated Summer Rosés. A “Somm” Étiquetage. Working as sommelier and passionate how I am, I always wonder how people buy and choose their wine, when you go in a cellar or specialized shop you will have often sellers knowing about the wines or even on internet it’s easy but, when they get to supermarket in front of hundreds bottles?

A “Somm” Étiquetage

I think that a better, smarter way of labelling would help consumers and in the same time bring them some knowledge without forcing them to read tons of books about wine. Being in a restaurant as a customer and get wine is easy when you have a good sommelier that know is list on the top on his fingers and get much knowledge! How many times I have heard, “ I would like some Chablis but I don’t like Chardonnay”, or “ What to pair with this dish” ?

So many request and questions that made me wonder! I think if you establish and create your labeling in a smart way the customer will indirectly learn more about wine and food, and will take more interest in it. Cheers #winelover.

Don’t you believe shoes are the ultimate accessory to match with your wine and create the perfect tasting (and drinking) conditions?

Shoes & wine pairings

I do. For the past 5 years I have developed an increasingly worrying addiction to shoes. I own only a few (although my closet is full) and most of the time I glance sideways at other women’s colourful sandals with envy. I sometimes even have to restrain myself from jumping and snatching the precious object from their feet. (True story). In addition to that, I have lately tried to match my footwear not only to my outfit but to – increasingly random – situations: pink sneakers for grey sad days, platform shoes for rainy days (as a mean of elevation over the puddles) and I even remember taking off my slippers to slip into far less comfortable stilettos to drink champagne at home.
