You'll look like a star.Paula Deen Paula’s Best Dishes Foodbuzz 24, 24, 24: Chinese Buffet at Home It is no secret that I have an obsession with Chinese cuisine. The place that started it all was a local Chinese buffet here in Michigan. After frequent visits to the buffet over the years, I finally decided to take a stab at cooking my own Chinese dishes at home. The majority of the dishes were delicious and I began cooking different Chinese meals every week, but I had always wanted more variety just like the buffet.

The Best of Brown Eyed Baker in 2014: 20 of My Favorite Recipes Yesterday, I shared my annual roundup of the 10 most popular recipes on Brown Eyed Baker that were made during 2014. While many of those on that list were my favorites, there were also a ton of recipes that I fell in love with this year that didn’t make the cut. I want to share my personal favorites with you that weren’t on the previous list, so I put together this follow-up roundup, which features 20 of my favorites from 2014 – 10 sweet and 10 savory. It was agonizing to pare this list down; there are so many more recipes I want to include! These are the recipes that I made over and over, tried to hide from others, and cried when they were gone.

7 Reasons Beer Makes a Better Fry Batter - Food News - “Beer,” write W. Wayt Gibbs and Nathan Myhrvold in Scientific American, “makes such a great base for batter because it simultaneously adds three ingredients—carbon dioxide, foaming agents and alcohol—each of which brings to bear different aspects of physics and chemistry to make [a] crust light and crisp.” Beer is the classic batter moistener for those hunks of cod in a really top-notch basket of fish and chips. It largely has to do with the amount of CO2 gas in beer. Gasses tend to dissolve at lower temperatures, not high. Grilled Cheese Social I've got to get this off of my chest. I care about bees. Like a lot. So much so, that when I have to write up the Links We Love at work each week I try to throw in one story about what's going on in the world of bees. It's gotten a little much though. The Best of Brown Eyed Baker in 2014: The 10 Most Popular Recipes As 2014 winds to a close, it’s time for the annual roundup of the most popular recipes that were posted during the year. It wouldn’t be an end-of-year celebration without it! I always look forward to putting this list together and uncovering which of the recipes were among the reader favorites for the year.

Pig Candy! How can you possibly go wrong with peppered bacon coated with dark brownsugar, baked, then glazed with pure maple syrup mixed with a little cayenne? Yeah, it's naughty good. The great folks at Burger's Smokehouse sent me some of their "crazy thick" (1/4") dry-cured bacon to try, so I thought I'd give it a proper treatment. Right out of the gate, let me say that this bacon is outstanding! Order some up, and thank me later. I spent about half of my childhood just down the road from them in Columbia, Missouri, so that makes it even more special for me.

Chef Cameron Stauch's Beginner's Guide to Indian Spices — Kitchen Tour I first met Canadian Chef Cameron Stauch when I wanted to stop spending so much money on Indian takeout by making my own Indian food, and I had no idea where to start. Cameron went as far as to bring me recipes and guide me around three different mini-marts where I could find Indian ingredients that had been brought into the country in the shop owner's suitcase. His enthusiasm to share other cultures' cuisines and ability to make Indian cooking accessible for me was a huge kindness, and I've since discovered that making Indian food can be quick, filling, and even easy.
