First things first: Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts (and your gratuitous, giggle-inducing compliments) on my blogging identity crisis post. I really felt a little confused about why I’m blogging in the first place and what (if anything) I should be focusing on, and you guys gave me a great reminder of what I’m doing here: sharing my passions, my thoughts, my hobbies, and my everyday, real, unglamourized (not a real word) life so we can connect and laugh and be inspired and improve ourselves together. The consensus of thought in the comments seems to be that while we all enjoy a good crochet/craft post, most of you seem to just enjoy having a good ol’ internet buddy that you can chuckle and commiserate and create with. Lace for Days Skirt
So, remember how 2 weeks ago I told you I had a new skirt tutorial? I am just now getting around to creating it, so sorry about the wait! I have had the lace for this skirt for about a year now (seriously), and have finally gotten around to making it. This idea has been in my head for a long time and it's nice to see if finally completed!

Boho Maxi Dress: a tutorial
This dress is an incredibly easy make. By now you may have realized that I'm all about the simple projects. I'm far from being a master seamstress, I just work with what I know and try to learn as I go. I've never actually owned a maxi dress before, but now I might be hooked. They're so comfy and they have the added benefit of hiding my neglected, less-than-hairless legs.
Tie Dye T-Shirts with Sharpie Markers!
It was Red Ribbon week at my daughter's school this week and their first dress up day was tie dye t-shirts and wouldn't you know she didn't have anything tie dye in her closet. So we decided to do a little art project together and make something with what we had on hand. I have seen several different examples and directions for this on the internet so we took what we found from various searches and modified it just a little bit.

These bracelets are sure to impress and look quite expensive, but all they require is some gold chain and friendship bracelet yarn, both of which you can find at a craft store like Michael’s Art Supply. Milanese Stitch Pouch
Metallic copper accents set off a monochromatic zip pouch that’s the perfect size for business cards, ID/credit cards, cash, or coins. It zips on two sides so you have much easier access into it than you would otherwise. The triangular pattern shown is traditionally known as ‘Milanese Stitch’ and is a common stitch in Berlin Work. Supplies: - 14 count white Aida cloth - embroidery floss in 2 colors (2 skeins per color) - metallic machine embroidery thread – this is copper colored Gutermann and I love it - 7″ zipper - fray check - lining fabric - sewing thread - needle with large eye - ordinary sewing needle To accommodate a 7 inch zipper I made my pouch 4 inches by 3 inches. The fabric is folded in half, so it needs to be 8 inches by 3 inches, plus seam allowance.
Summer of Skirts - Elastic A-Line Tutorial
This skirt is great, because it is almost as easy as the 20 minute skirt but is more flattering and versatile. I plan on making many more of these! It's also worth noting that my current giveaway (enter to win if you haven't already!) dress features this type of skirt. What you need:-elastic - enough to fit around your waist; i prefer 3/4 inch for skirts-1 yard of fabric if you normally wear a small/medium, maybe a little more if you are large and up- a yardstick or newspaper or something with a long straight edge
