Song Lyric Wall Art / D.I.Y. Project

Song Lyric Wall Art / D.I.Y. Project
A couple weeks ago, I found a paint-by-number at an unbeatable price. I can't pass these things up even though I already owned this particular design. I thought that I could maybe use it to make a fun D.I.Y., but my new rule is that all thrifts that I purchase with the intent of restyling need to get done right away. I have way too many half finished projects in my life. With that little bit of motivation I came up with a fun D.I.Y. to display some of my favorite song lyrcis in our newlywed home. Enjoy.... Here's how I did it... I displayed our piece in our bedroom, on Jeremy's side of the bed. A couple weeks ago, I found a paint-by-number at an unbeatable price.

Sofa Caddy Sometimes, I think my TV remote has a mind of its own. Nine times out of ten, it's not where I want it when I sit down. I figure it must get up and leave when I'm not looking. Same thing goes for all my other controls ... never around when I need them (much like gas stations). Bubble Printing Fun!!! This weekend we were doing bubble activities galore: playing and printing with bubbles. Cassie enjoyed both. What inspired us to do this was when we were at friend's house and they had Crayola Colored Bubbles. Making: Pages packed full of wonderful, original and exciting craft projects, perfect for dads, mums and kids One of the first shops that Harry Potter visited when Hagrid took him to Diagon Alley was Ollivanders, the wand shop to buy his most important possession, his wand. Wands can be made from a variety of materials, after all Hagrid used an old umbrella as a wand! Yours will be made from paper. But do not be deceived it will be every bit as magical as the real wands used in the film, and if you make it carefully will look just as good. . . .

a littLe somethin' for MoM I've been making more flowers...I can't give it up. Actually, I was in need of a quick, easy (and not to mention, cheap) project for my Activity Day girls to do this month and decided that it should probably be something for the Moms...seeing as, Mother's Day is just around the corner. So of course, the flower was the obvious choice. What mom wouldn't want a nice flower to wear on her special day? Now, if you're thinking "I would love to have a flower to wear on Mother's Day!" Guess what...I'm giving a few away. No-interfacing Storage Basket Tutorial As promised, a recipe for making washable stand-up storage baskets: You'll need to cut 2 of each of these pieces (click on the pic to enlarge it to a readable size). The measurements are in centimetres because that's the way I was brought up (sorry). A seam allowance of 1cm is included in these measurements. This basket's base is 15cm wide, but you could make any size using this slightly haphazard formula, where x is the width of the base and y is the height of the basket. And 2 is cm and seam allowance.

Hand Stitching, part 1 - LA One of my favorite crafts is hand stitching-- it's fun, addictive, expressive and relaxing :) Over the next few weeks, I'm going to share easy ways to make your own patterns for hand stitching along with some tips and ideas :) These are some samples of my past projects-- I like to draw patterns freehand and use my handwriting. However, sometimes I adapt clipart type images to make a more complicated pattern, like the sewing machine or I just stitch the outline of an image I love, like the Goonies "Hey You Guys" silhouette :) I use a Back Stitch for all my hand stitching because it's very versatile and I like the look but you can use any combination of stitches for your projects... there's lots of fun ones! Today, we're going to start with handwriting & transferring your pattern :)
