Some said it couldn't really be happening; that it was just publicity. And the fabulous Beatles proved them wrong. Others said they couldn't last more than a month or two; that nobody could hang on to that kind of fame. The Beatles, of course, proved them wrong too. Then when their first movie was released, and even the critics liked it, people began to wonder if all those Beatle fans hadn't really discovered something after all. But you, the Beatles' fans, knew all along. http://www.beatlesagain.com/

http://beatle.wordpress.com/beatles-portal/ I read the news today: All Beatle news. Here’s my extended Beatles link-emporium. Links of all varieties on all things fab. NOTE : I know…everyone has their favorite Fab Four sites, if you don’t see yours here, let me know and we’ll see what we can do about adding it onto the list. I think that this would be of interest here.
In 1971, a New York Times columnist accused The Beatles of “ripping off” struggling black musicians who the band covered. Journalist Craig McGregor claimed the Fab Four rode the coattails of the original artists, raking in money and fame without so much as a hat tip to the songs’ originators. John Lennon responded to McGregor in a handwritten note penned on American Airlines while flying across the Atlantic. http://holykaw.alltop.com/john-lennon-considered-covering-music-a-love

Fans who can’t find the Beatles in the iTunes store can take some solace in Paul McCartney’s recent admission that he doesn’t object to people downloading music without paying for it. It’s also weird that Beatles catalog is not available on iTunes while McCartney (sort of) endorses free downloads. But according to him, the Beatles/iTunes holdup is due to the record label EMI "want[ing] something we’re not prepared to give them" as part of the deal. Perhaps the answer is to try something new. Like everyone else in the music business, McCartney was fascinated by Radiohead’s In Rainbows pricing-optional release and thought about participating.

John was not only a brilliant musician and songwriter but an intelligent, thoughtful philosopher and clever quipster. These are some of my favorite John Lennon quotes. This is an illustrated catalogue of my personal collection of Apple singles. The core of the collection are the original UK singles released independently by Apple. It does not include records by the Beatles, and ex-Beatles, released in the Parlophone R series . The catalogue is replete with historical and contextual information and my own views about many of the recordings - ongoingly updated as I discover or think of new things. [ More about the collection ] The catalogue has been implemented using MediaWiki (the engine behind Wikipedia), partly because it offers an attractive and familiar interface for presenting the information, and as a challenging exercise in understanding the application. Enfin Les Beatles. On attendait beaucoup.
