wetenschap 25 mei 2012 16:56 | De verwevenheid tussen onderzoek en onderwijs op de Hogeschool van Amsterdam is verre van optimaal. Dat blijkt uit een enquête die Folia Magazine hield onder HvA-lectoren. Meer dan de helft van de lectoren vindt dat de inbedding van onderzoek in het onderwijs beter kan, terwijl maar iets meer dan twintig procent van de lectoren vindt dat het onderzoek wel goed wordt ingezet in het onderwijs. Aan de HvA zijn 37 lectoren verbonden, waarvan 19 de vragenlijst ingevuld terugstuurden. Uit de enquête blijkt verder dat de lectoren gemiddeld 43 procent van hun tijd aan onderzoek besteden, 22 procent aan onderwijs en 35 procent aan overige taken besteden.

onderwijs 25 januari 2012 10:30 | Het bedrijf loopt goed, zo goed zelfs dat ze er de stage van de opleiding technische bedrijfskunde aan willen besteden. Maar de opleiding stribbelt tegen en verplicht de HvA-studenten ervaring op te doen in een bedrijf van honderd man of groter. Een defecte MacBook of iPhone drie weken kwijt voor een reparatie? Dat moet sneller kunnen.

Een Akademiehoogleraar is een hoogleraar die door de Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen (KNAW) in staat wordt gesteld om zich gedurende vijf jaar naar eigen inzicht bezig te houden met wetenschappelijk onderzoek en onderwijs, zonder de bestuurlijke verplichtingen die gewoonlijk tot zijn takenpakket behoren. Het gaat om hoogleraren die aansprekende wetenschappelijke prestaties hebben geleverd. De eerste Akademiehoogleraren zijn in 2003 benoemd.

The private finance initiative (PFI) is a way of creating " public–private partnerships " (PPPs) by funding public infrastructure projects with private capital. Developed initially by the Australian and United Kingdom governments, PFI and its variants have now been adopted in many countries as part of the wider neo-liberal programme of privatisation and financialisation driven by an increased need for accountability and efficiency for public spending, national governments, and international bodies such as the World Trade Organization , International Monetary Fund , and World Bank .
