Après une courte introduction dans laquelle Alon évoque les frustrations rencontrées avec les logiciels de cartographie, il recense les avantages à utiliser une dimensions supplémentaire pour afficher les informations puis aborde les représentations possibles (Cone Tree, arbres hyperboliques, etc.). Dans la seconde partie, il revient sur la valeur ajoutée de la 3D au niveau des cartes heuristiques et termine sa réflexion par la possibilité d’animer les cartes pour modifier l’angle de vue.
