Posted Feb 07, 2011 Share This Gallery inShare850 Up and down Detroit’s streets, buildings stand abandoned and in ruin. French photographers Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre set out to document the decline of an American city. Their book “The Ruins of Detroit“, a document of decaying buildings frozen in time, was published in December 2010. From the photographers’ website: Ruins are the visible symbols and landmarks of our societies and their changes, small pieces of history in suspension. The state of ruin is essentially a temporary situation that happens at some point, the volatile result of change of era and the fall of empires.

Photography appeared to us as a modest way to keep a little bit of this ephemeral state. Advertisement Being cute is somewhat akin to being a little baby child with a general feel of lovability and affection towards the outlook of the body stature. Cuteness is best demonstrated through small babies who have all the key features that usually attract the eyes of all and sundry and make a person loveable yet there remains an ever so impossible burning desire to own the intangible aspects. Not only the physical appearance but all the subtle behavioral attributes such as a bit of curiosity, pampered but measured arrogance and all other childlike features comprise the cuteness.

A Father Who Creatively Captures His Kids (20 photos) If there was a prize that could be given out to the most creative father, I'd hope that it was awarded to Jason Lee. A wedding photographer by day, he's used to capturing some of the most important moments in a couple's lives.

As a longtime fan of Jason's photos on Flickr however, I think the real magic happens when he turns the camera onto his daughters. Sure, his children are adorably cute in their own right, but that's not what makes his photos so interesting. It's when he puts his own spin on their everyday moments that we not only get to experience our own childhood again, we're able to see a father's pride shine through.

I was able to get in touch with Jason to ask him a few questions. Read that short interview, below, after seeing some of his wonderfully creative photos. Q: How did you get into photography? Q: How do you come up with such creative photos of your daughters? Q: How has being on Flickr helped you with your business? Q: Any inspirational stories you'd like to share? 10 Best Ad Campaigns "Life's too short for the wrong job". The Surreal Paintings of Vladimir Kush. I am so excited about sharing these!!! :) :) :) part 1 of lynnette & james’ engagement shoot was so fun to shoot that planning a part 2 was definitely in order! (click HERE for the first round of images & the inspiring love story that goes along with them!) The vision for these was to recreate the more child-like scenes of the Disney Pixar movie “UP!” ; when ellie & carl first met, playing under a homemade tent together, dreaming of flying to paradise falls, working alongside each other at the zoo, painting their first mailbox and then them just playing together! Lynnette & james, will you please let me shoot part 3 in 25 years?! Awe-inspiring Digital Art & Illustration
