Sticky Note Thank You Card. I've been working with a long term substitute for the past five weeks and this Friday is her last day - muy triste!

Sticky Note Thank You Card

She has been amazing, so to let her know how much we appreciated her, my students and I made her a thank-you card with a recycled file folder and sticky notes (I think I had Ladybug's sticky notes post in my mind). Instead of having students one by one sign a card, they were all able to write her a message at the same time with the sticky notes, and then I randomly arranged them on the file folder. I folded the side ends of the file folder towards the middle crease like you do when you make a lapbook.

I holepunched and added ribbon (recycled :)). I let students pick their sticky note (I have very trustworthy kids!). The inside I randomly took a picture of this sticky note and didn't realize how cute the message was until now.

Polka Dot Lesson Plans: Tame the Paper Monster Part 4: Papers for Students

Today I'm going to show you what I do with the papers I need to give my students and/or use in lessons. If you are just joining in on the series you can get your organization on here: part 1, part 2, and part 3. There are two parts to this system: a 3-drawer box and a hanging file organizer. We'll start out with the 3-drawer box. This is where I store papers until I'm ready to use them with my students.

The other part of the system involves this hanging file folder chart. Every afternoon before I leave school I open my lesson plans and check to see what papers I'll need for the next day's lessons. This chart is really sturdy and can hold a lot of papers. It keeps all my papers out of the way and helps me to stay on track with what we will be doing next. What paper "tricks" do you use in your classroom? Polka Dot Lesson Plans: tame the paper monster. This was a hard post to think of a title for....the best thing I could say to describe this post?

What to do with all the papers you want off your desk but don't have time to deal with right now! Enter more baskets from Really Good Stuff. You didn't really think I was finished with using baskets did you? This is a shot of the book case located right behind my desk. Now let me take you on an in depth tour of the mysteries and magic these three baskets hold....hehe First up we have the graded papers basket. As soon as I grade a set of papers they go straight into this basket. Next up we've got the "to file" basket. This method is just the easiest way for me to keep up on separating worksheets, plans, foldables, and ideas into separate files in a filing cabinet. 25 Clever Classroom Tips For Elementary School Teachers.
