Antigone, La Place du Nombre d’Or, Montpellier (1985) - Architecte: Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura. The decision on the part of the municipal authorities of Montpellier to direct the orderly expansion of the town to the east stems from the desire to balance the city centre and integrate the banks of the river Lez into the urban fabric.

Antigone, La Place du Nombre d’Or, Montpellier (1985) - Architecte: Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura

“La Place du Nombre d’Or”, was the first project to be completed by RBTA in Montpellier, a construction which served as a motor force and architectonic reference for the development as a whole. The relationship with the city centre, and especially with the Polygone (a dehumanized centre with no relationship of any kind with the town), was one of the most important challenges which the team had to face. “La Place du Nombre d’Or” is a symbolic element by virtue of the fact that it marks the beginning of the urban axis of the new district of Antigone and is the first of all the buildings that have been constructed over a period of almost twenty years.

Heydar Aliyev Center (2013) Baku, Azerbaijan / Architecte : Zaha Hadid Architects. With 850 panels of aluminum grating that have different sizes and patterns and are combined as mosaic, we tried to translate the humane and unsorted atmosphere of this vibrant district alongside the canal into architectural vocabulary. Normally, multipurpose buildings in big cities are treated unfavourably. Experience Music Project à Seattle () Architecte : Frank Gehry. Flatiron Building (1902) - Architecte Daniel Burnham . New York, USA. By early 1980 the detailed configuration of the building had emerged.

The scheme was approved in May the following year, by which time the demolition work to the 1928 building was substantially complete. The basic ‘doughnut’ arrangement – gallery floor plates around a central atrium – remained and the building emerged as a forceful and highly individual presence in the urban landscape. The flexible galleries house the underwriting trading space – The Room – and office space, some of which is externally lettable. The Room is housed on the lower four levels and all vertical movement within The Room is by a central escalator system, providing easy and open access. Below The Room, adjacent to Leadenhall Market, is a semi-public area housing Lloyd’s restaurant and coffee shop, a wine bar, library, meeting rooms and reception. The towers, on a site between El Prat airport and the city, make the most of its strategic location to become a gateway to Barcelona and a reference point for the entrance to the new trade fair precinct. Two 110 metre tall towers engage in a subtle dialogue. The brief is divided into three different uses: hotel, offices and business. Frederikssund Loop Tower - Architecte : Julien De Smedt. Showing image 1 of 36 Frederikssund is named after the late King Frederik III (17th century).

Frederikssund Loop Tower - Architecte : Julien De Smedt

If that isn’t so relevant in our times it is interesting to notice its central position in a bizarre stretch aligning the main 3 cities of the Oeresund Region to Denmark’s mainland: namely and in order from East to West, Malmoe, Copenhagen and Aarhus. Frederikssund is strategically and conveniently located at the confluence of various transportation systems, directly linked to Copenhagen and halfway to Aarhus. The city’s development ambitions outlined in the Vinge masterplan and the ambitions of this project’s commissioner to create a pole of mixed development and the highest tower in the country seem to align as well.

Musée de Ningbo (2008) - Architecte Wang Shu - Chine. La Fábrica (1975) Près de Barcelone. Architecte : Ricardo Bofill.

In 1973, Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill discovered an old cement factory just outside Barcelona.

La Fábrica (1975) Près de Barcelone. Architecte : Ricardo Bofill

"We found enormous silos, a tall smoke snack, four kilometres of underground tunnels, machine rooms in good shape," writes Bofill on his website. He identified several magical elements that were surprisingly modern, from surrealism in the building's stairs that led nowhere to brutalism in its structure and absurdity in its strange proportions. "Seduced by the contradictions and the ambiguity of the place, we quickly decided to retain the factory and sculpt it like a work of art. " The architect now works and lives in this stunning space, and beautifully describes life there as "a continuous sequence, with very little difference between work and leisure".

This ‘skyscraper‘ in the center of the Korean capital Seoul has become a pixelated landmark, that tells the story of thousand people who once chose a fitting color for a door in their apartment. Musée d'art de Denver (2013) Extension du musée. Architecte : Daniel Libeskind . Description Studio Libeskind’s extension to the Denver Art Museum is the Studio’s first building to reach completion in the USA. Silhouetted against the majestic backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, Libeskind’s design consists of a series of geometric volumes inspired by the peaks and valleys of the mountain range. A sharply angled cantilevered section juts across the street, pointing towards the existing Museum by Milanese architect Gio Ponti, which first opened in 1971. The Frederic C. Hamilton Building, as the 146,000-square-foot Denver Art Museum extension is named, is clad in an innovative new surface with 9,000 titanium panels that cover the building’s surface and reflect the brilliant Colorado landscape.

The architect conceived of the extension project as part of a composition of public spaces, monuments and gateways in this developing part of the city, tying together downtown, the Civic Center, and forming a strong connection to the golden triangle neighborhood. “Concept 137" : Architecte : Roman Vlasov. Musée du Louvre Lens (2013) - Architectes japonais Kazuyo Sejima et Ryue Nishizawa. Lens, France. Justervesenet, Norvège (1997) – Architecte : Kristin Jarmund. RW Lindholm House (1952) - Minnesota, USA - Architecte : Frank Lloyd Wright. A 1950s dwelling that is one of the Usonian homes that Frank Lloyd Wright designed for middle-class residents has been moved from its original site in Minnesota to a private estate located near Fallingwater.

The RW Lindholm House – often referred to as Mäntylä, which is Finnish for "house among the pines" – was built in 1952 in the small town of Cloquet in northeastern Minnesota. The residence was designed for businessman Ray Lindholm and his wife Emmy, and is an example of one of Wright's late-period Usonian homes, which were created for middle-class families starting in the 1930s during the Great Depression. Encompassing approximately 2,300 square feet (214 square metres), the low-slung dwelling was constructed of concrete block, with a roof clad in reddish Ludowici tiles.

Hôtel de Région Languedoc Roussillon, Montpellier (1989) – Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura. Marking the end of Antigone’s axis, this administrative building was built as the seat of the Languedoc-Roussillon Government and the Regional Parliament. As a building emblematic of the region and the culmination of a major civic axis, it needed to have an easily recognizable monumental form. It was therefore conceived as a glass-clad triumphal arch with a central opening. Château-Gaillard (XIIe siècle) - Normandie, France. Architecte: Pascal HAUSERMANN - Salle de concert et d'exposition, Rouen, France (2001) Architecte : Bernard Tschumi. Rouen Concert Hall and Exhibition Complex Rouen, 1998-2001 Initiated as a civic tool capable of fostering both the economic expansion and cultural development of the Rouen district in the 21st century, this concert hall and exhibition center are well-located near the entry to Rouen, less than an hour-and-a-half by car from Paris.

As seen from National Route 138, the 8,000-seat concert hall, open public space, and new 70,000-square-foot exhibition hall provide a strong contemporary image, a spark of cultural and economic rebirth placed on 70 acres of a site structured by dramatic lighting and a grid of plantings. more The complex is designed to be seen with equal interest whether heading to or away from Rouen on the highway. The public area where the exhibition hall and concert hall come together can also accommodate shows, exhibitions, and open-air s, and permits lighting installations and temporary structures. In November 2010, my company VINCENT CALLEBAUT ARCHITECTURES based in Paris was awarded as the successful tenderer for the construction of a new Sustainable Residential Tower located at Taipei.

My firm was in competition in front of Zaha Hadid and Fernando Menis. My project is currently under construction and completion is expected in June 2018. The Tao Zhu Yin Yuan sustainable tower will carry 23,000 trees planted on the ground and balconies, which can absorb 130 ton CO2 annually in Taipei. The Tao Zhu Yin Yuan is a prototype of Carbon-Absorbing Green Building . Wednesday, Nov.16, a steel beam was lifted to the top of our Tao Zhu Yin Yuan Tower (Agora Garden Tower) at a ceremony marking a major step toward completing the construction of the apartment building in Taipei, Taiwan.

For this event, we take the following slogan as our main objective : "A small step of carbon absorbing, a big leap for anti-global warming". Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. Tour de Pise (campanile de la cathédrale - débuté vers 1173) - Pise, Italie. Dancing House (1996) Prague, Tchecoslovaquie. Architecte : Frank Gerhy. It's not often the case that architects grow to become household names. But Frank Gehry has never lived by any common practice. The award-winning architect has spent more than a half-century disrupting the very meaning of design within architecture. From the iconic Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (which Philip Johnson called “the greatest building of our time") to the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris, Gehry has proven time and again the force that's produced when whimsical design is done masterfully.
