Elon Musk Wants to Create Human-A.I. Link and “Make Everyone Hyper-Smart”

The tech entrepreneur explained in an interview aired Sunday night how he plans to create a link between humans and artificial intelligence that would ensure the two can move in lock-step and enhance human capabilities. Musk told Axios that his plan is to develop an electrode-to-neuron-based brain-computer interface, or what he called “a chip and a bunch of tiny wires.” Musk explained that “the long-term aspiration with neural networks would be to achieve a symbiosis with artificial intelligence, and to achieve a democratization of intelligence such that it is not monopolistically held in a purely digital form by governments and large corporations…how do we ensure that the future constitutes the sum of the will of humanity? If we have billions of people with the high-bandwidth link to the A.I. extension of themselves, it would actually make everyone hyper smart.”

Neuralink: Elon Musk’s Elusive Brain-Computer Firm Just Made a Big Reveal

The firm, which aims to develop “ultra high bandwidth brain-machine interfaces to connect humans and computers,” announced Thursday plans to host an event in San Francisco on the evening of July 16. The private event will give guests a chance to “hear from members of our team about what we’ve done so far as well as some of our plans for the future.” Perhaps most interesting of all, the company is giving members of the public the chance to attend the limited-space event. Candidates are invited to fill out eight questions, including a link to their LinkedIn profile and an explanation of why they should attend.

Neuralink also reassures people that those who are unsuccessful can still watch the event through an online livestream. The event’s announcement sparked elation among the account’s 39,000 followers. The entrepreneur took to Twitter to tell followers the technology would be “coming soon” – though he failed to provide details. Neuralink was set up in 2016 with the ambitious goal of developing hardware to enhance the human brain, however, little about how this will work has been made public. We’ll tell you what’s true. The startup’s website, which is advertising vacancies for 11 different jobs, describes the futuristic technology as an “ultra-high bandwidth” connection between the human brain and computers.

Mr Musk has frequently claimed the rapid rise of artificial intelligence poses an existential risk to humanity. “I don’t love the idea of being a house cat, but what’s the solution?” SpaceX Crew Dragon splashdown in the Atlantic Ocean for NASA. CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — It's not often that Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of SpaceX, gets emotional, but the seemingly flawless launch of Crew Dragon — his company's first spaceship built to fly astronauts — apparently ranks up there.

In 2018, Elon Musk's aerospace company achieved 20 successful launches. Those missions sent dozens of payloads into orbit, debuted two experimental Starlink internet satellites, and even shot a car past the orbit of Mars. The company still has one more launch planned for December. Tesla CEO Elon Musk welcomes GM competition. The trolling of Elon Musk: how US conservatives are attacking green tech. The trolling of Elon Musk: how US conservatives are attacking green tech

South African-born Elon Musk is a billionaire green evangelist, a bete noire of the fossil fuels industry who talks about colonising Mars and believes it may be possible that we’re living in a computer simulation. But having been feted by the Obama administration, he now faces an extraordinary barrage of attacks from rightwing thinktanks, lobbyists, websites and commentators. The character of the assault says much about which way the political wind is blowing in Washington – something that will have consequences that stretch far beyond the US. One of Musk’s most trenchant critics has been the journalist Shepard Stewart, who writes for a clutch of conservative online news sites. Koch Industries did not respond to requests for comment. The Silicon Valley prodigy who made millions off internet startups wasn't looking to start a business at the time. He wanted to spend a big chunk, or maybe all of his fortune, on a stunt he hoped would reinvigorate interest in funding NASA and space exploration.

The idea was to buy a Russian rocket on the cheap and use it to send plants or mice to Mars -- and hopefully bring them back, too. SpaceX's cargo docking with interstellar docking music. : space.
