Design your own shoes | DIY | Custom Shoes. Product Name: Sneaker Customization Kit Background research: As summer rapidly approaches, I’m beginning to notice that I need some new sneakers. But I’m starting to realize: either the shoes I like are too expensive or the ones that are affordable, I’m not so crazy about the way they look. Then it dawned on me, what if I were able to create a sneaker that perfectly matched my style & clothes that were already in my closet as opposed of buying a shoe, then having to go buy more things to go with it. Hypothesis: With the sneaker customization kit, I can create my own personal design to whatever sneaker I choose. The Experiment: I took a pair of sneakers that I barely wore, removed the laces, grabbed a couple of “sneaker preparation wipes,” cleaned off the sneakers, & let my imagination do the rest.

Being that I am an artist, I analyzed the whole ordeal way too much, beforehand. Need some new kicks? Clay Craft - Urban Comfort. I'm back! May was one of the craziest months I've ever had, but crazy in a good way. I can't wait to unveil the fall projects I've been working on. But really, who wants to think about fall when there's summer to enjoy? At any rate, I thought I'd return with a project I did for my column in the July issue of Family Circle. I've been obsessed with texture for the longest while now, which led to the lace decoupaged containers and then to these clay projects.

This was only my second time working with clay (and the first time was kid-oriented, so this was an entirely new approach for me). Make a set of coasters or nesting bowls as a weekend house gift, make party favors for summer gatherings, or place them around your house as handy catchalls. Last week was a busy week filled with a field trip to the zoo sandwiched by 3 twelve hour shifts. By Friday I was extremely happy for the weekend to arrive. Although Pat worked late, we still barbecued dinner and relaxed with a few adult beverages after tucking in our girls. Tonight he made a special request… for garlic bread. This garlic bread beats the store bought kind by a mile. It super easy to whip up and only takes a few minutes under the broiler. Here are the ingredients you will need. Start by pressing the three cloves of garlic into a medium bowl. Mince up a shallot so it measures one tablespoon. Add the shallot to the garlic in the medium bowl. Next, mince up the fresh parsley and measure out a tablespoon.

Add that to the bowl along with the salt and pepper. Now add the *gasp* two sticks of butter and the two tablespoons {give or take} of freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until combined. And set aside, just for now. Grab your loaf of Italian bread. Remove and slice immediately. Salted Chocolate - StumbleUpon. We’re watching our friend’s cat right now, and it’s a lot of fun. Kramer and I want to get a pet so badly, but I just don’t think that I have the time, energy, or, frankly, money, to take care of an animal the way I would like to. For now, though, it’s just fun to pretend to have a pet for a week. His name is Eddie and he’s pretty funny. I’ve never had a cat before, but Kramer grew up with them so he’s more accustomed to their behavior than I am. These bars really do taste like Twix, and I’m not even exaggerating. Your ingredients. Combine your flour, brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Cut your cold butter into cubes and add to the flour. Mix in the water and the egg yolk until combined. Using your hands, spread the dough into a greased 9×13 pan. Combine the condensed milk, butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla in a sauce pot. Spread the caramel over the baked shortbread crust. Cook time: Step-by-Step Instructions for One-Ingredient Ice Cream | Apartment Therapy... - StumbleUpon. The Infamous Jacques Torres Chocolate Chip Cookies - StumbleUpon. Now, I have a chocolate chip cookie recipe that I swear by. I love it, I think it is incredible, and I haven’t changed my mind about that. However, as much as it pains me to say it, these chocolate chip cookies by Jacques Torres are absolutely, without a doubt, the best chocolate chip cookies that I have ever made or tasted in my entire life.

I guess that’s why they call him Mr. Chocolate! These are a chocolate chip cookie of another color, that’s for sure. To begin, they use both cake flour and bread flour – that’s right, there is no all-purpose flour to be found in these beauties. Either way, I made these and everyone that tried them went nuts. Edit: For more Jacques Torres deliciousness, check out my Jacques Torres Chocolate Mudslide Cookies! Your ingredients. Whisk together the cake flour, bread flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Beat together the butter and sugars, until light and fluffy, at least 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla. How to Make Homemade Candy Bars (Resolution Breaker) (Oh Nuts Blog) - StumbleUpon. If you’re like most people, you probably started off the year with a whole list of resolutions: more sleep! Less coffee! More exercise! Less television! More vegetables! Less sugar!

That’s commendable, truly it is. I call them “Resolution Breaker Candy Bars,” and if you’re absolutely wedded to your healthy eating habits, stop reading now before it’s too late… Still here? Resolution Breaker Candy Barsyield: about 20 bars Ingredients 24 ounces chocolate candy coating1/2 stick (2 oz) butter1 cup granulated sugar1/4 cup evaporated milk1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme or fluff1 tsp vanilla extract1/3 cup peanut butter, creamy or chunky14 oz soft caramels, unwrapped1.5 cups roasted, salted peanuts To make it easier to remove and cut the bars, line a 9×13 pan with aluminum foil. Most nougat recipes are pretty complicated and involve whipping egg whites into a meringue and using a candy thermometer to boil a sugar syrup. Once set, remove the candy bars from the pan using the foil as handles. Oreo Cookies and Cream No-Bake Cheesecake | Bakers Royale - StumbleUpon.

Banana Split Bites | Bakers Royale - StumbleUpon. Banana Split Bites ~ A classic ice cream dessert gets mini for some bite size fun. And yes, there is actually a tiny scoop of ice cream tucked inside and underneath the whip cream of those little darlings. Banana Split Mini Bites For once I made something mini for portion control and not just for the cute factor. My little guy had some friends over the other day and of course with a mom who is a baker, the expectation is dessert will not only be good but it will be fun.

And I was asked, by friend Caroline, not to let her boys eat too much dessert. Keeping all things in mind what I served is what you see here. It was a hit! Chocolate souffl&233; cupcakes with mint cream | smitten kitchen - StumbleUpon. I’m clearly some sort of grinch, because when I think of flourless chocolate cakes I imagine giant discs of truffle so dense and overly rich that even a sliver of somehow feels excessive, the kind of throwaway dessert restaurants bust out when they’ve got no better ideas.

“Add a couple out-of-season, eerily red raspberries and a tuft of whipped cream from a can and it will, without fail, sell,” I imagine sinister managers instructing kitchen staff. Like I said, I’m a total pill. However, when the same flourless chocolate cake is treated like a soufflé — eggs separated, yolks beaten until ribbony and whites whipped until weightless, then gently folded in — and then placed anywhere in my proximity, all bets are off. Because what it does is magical; what was once weighted is lifted off the plate. But we should really talk about this thing nested in the fallen center of the cakes: white chocolate mint whipped cream. [Updated to note: Many people who have made this say they're getting 12! Caramel Apple Cupcakes | The Girl Who Ate Everything - StumbleUpon. September is finally here and all I can think about are all of the apple recipes I want to dig into.

Notes. Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries - StumbleUpon. Call me easily amused, but these little torch-topped cupcakes delight me. Besides being a cute novelty item for a party, I think they would add a little drama to the end of a romantic meal. I've been looking for something different to serve for Valentine's dessert, and this is definitely different. The strawberries are hollowed out and filled with a bit of liquor, then ignited with a match. For the cake portion, I chose a One Bowl Chocolate Cupcake recipe because 1. it's quick 2. it is easy, and 3. it fits my prerequisite for a light ending on date night.

I should say, a light ending provided you don't eat too many. Which is really, really easy to do. The cakes are just sweet enough, and have a light, fluffy crumb - the perfect vehicle for rich chocolate buttercream. Notes for flaming strawberries:Any alcohol below 80 proof will not ignite well. One Bowl Vanilla Cupcakes For Two | How Sweet It Is - StumbleUpon. Let’s face it: sometimes we all need a dessert that only makes two servings. Sometimes we just can’t handle 12 servings. Sometimes we eat them all by ourselves.

Sometimes we eat them all by ourselves in two hours. Sometimes we eat them all by ourselves in a matter of minutes. FYI: I have no idea what that is like. Haven’t you always wished you could make just enough dessert for yourself? Or… just yourself? Me too. But more often than not, I’ve found it to be a hassle to drag out the mixer, cream the sugar and butter, sift the dry ingredients and all that fun stuff for a measly two cupcakes. What can I say? Well, I was lazy. It is definitely your typical white cake; fluffy and soft, full of vanilla flavor, and the perfect vehicle for some fluffy white frosting. And it only takes one bowl!

I think what I love most about these cupcakes is their customizability. [print_this] One Bowl Vanilla Cupcakes for Two serves 2 1 egg white 2 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons butter, melted 1/4 cup flour. Mingmakescupcakes.yolasite.com.
