Journaling: Transferring Images with Con-Tact Paper Journaling: Transferring Images with Con-Tact Paper You can make journal pages much more interesting by layering multiple images and text. There are many ways to transfer an image onto a page….so I’ll be doing several posts with different techniques. Below I’ll show you how to use clear Con-Tact paper (the stuff used for drawer liners and textbook covers). Many people use packing tape for this same technique, but I think it is too limiting because it’s size. Below are three journal pages where I used Con-Tact paper to place an image or text as a layer. Materials needed:

I know that I normally save my tutorials for Tuesdays, but I finally got this thing hung and wanted to share it with you now:o) I just couldn't wait. This is my menu board: This piece of wood has been sitting in our garage for quite some time now. It was a scrap piece of wood left over from S.R.'s Dollhouse Bookshelf.

Learn → Beginner Brace yourself, folks, for this lesson will introduce to you your first set of Kanji evah. The chances are that you are going to be very confused, but we'll take it slowly and things will be explained thoroughly. I want to stress this right now, do not try to memorize the on'yomi and kun'yomi. They are merely given for reference. 漢字大好き - I Love Kanji 漢字大好き - I Love Kanji

Careful, writers! 10 common words with opposite meanings

Careful, writers! 10 common words with opposite meanings The English language is full of words with uncommon properties. There are backronyms, metaplasms, and neologisms. My favorite words of unusual properties are contranyms, or words that are spelled the same, but have two opposite meanings. These words are also known as Janus words, named after the Roman god of gates and doorways and of beginnings and endings.
100 Exquisite Adjectives by Mark Nichol Adjectives — descriptive words that modify nouns — often come under fire for their cluttering quality, but often it’s quality, not quantity, that is the issue. Plenty of tired adjectives are available to spoil a good sentence, but when you find just the right word for the job, enrichment ensues. Practice precision when you select words. Here’s a list of adjectives:

Cake postcard tutorial

Make a mailable slice of cake I have so many friends and family members that always say "I wish you could mail me a birthday cake!" ... well, now I can send them a slice. Imagine how happy and excited you'd be, if you went to your mailbox one day and pulled out a slice of cake. Now you can surprise friends and family (and probably even your mail carrier), with this three-dimensional, mailable postcard, cleverly disguised as cake. With only five ingredients in this crafty recipe — a large sponge, spray paint, caulk, spray adhesive and heavy paper — it's a piece of cake. Cake postcard tutorial
