Thank you Kaitlyn, and Congrats! I hope you like it …but if not, I’ll gladly keep it for myself Email your whereabouts to lovemaegan@gmail.com and I’ll send it to you asap. And for the rest of you …an easy DIY. * Crystals {I like the plastic ones, they’re safer but you can find real/glass/vintage crystals in this shape at flea markets, specifically, if you’re in LA, the Rose Bowl} …I had a few left over from My Prada Inspired Chandelier Necklace so I’m using more rectangular cuts than the octagonal shapes of the original necklace.

. * Using your crystals {or a necklace you may already have} create a row that measures from left to right collar bone, with a nice drape {about 12″ usually works}. * Using enough ribbon to give you the option of wearing it short or long, cut and loop through as shown. . * …then tying a double knot. Tutorial: Ribbon and Pearl Stretch Bracelets. Last night the women's group at my husband's seminary held a craft night.

Tutorial: Ribbon and Pearl Stretch Bracelets

Everyone was given the option of bringing their own craft or participating in a group craft. I helped to plan the event and was responsible for picking the group craft and preparing the materials. After contemplating a few ideas and gathering inspiration from Pinterest, I decided that these bracelets would be perfect. There are a lot of bracelets in this style around the web, so this isn't an original idea by any means, but I put my own spin on it by making the bracelets with stretch cord so that they are easy to take on and off...tie the ribbon once and you're done!

I've given instructions for three different versions of the bracelet: The Wave, The Pleat, and The Fold. I owe credit to the Potomac Bead Company in Ocean City, NJ where I was first introduced to making ribbon and bead jewelry through their ribbon & bead necklace class. Step 1: Thread the Stretch Magic cord through the eye of your needle. The Wave. DIY Geometric Necklace. I love Eddie Borgo jewelry but I prefer not to spend hundreds of dollars on a necklace or a bracelet.

DIY Geometric Necklace

So of course that leads me to take the inspiration and recreate that piece of jewelry. This DIY is a twist on Eddie Borgo’s Gold-Plated Triangle Necklace. It’s simple and quick, and I used supplies such as the gold metal foil leftover from a previous DIY. Also, I am currently travelling in Turkey so even though I finished the DIY back in Chicago, I edited it during my flight and now publishing it from Istanbul! Anyway, let’s get started! Colorblock Necklace Graphic. Leather + Cut Metal Necklace. Try This: Leather + Cut Metal Necklace Not only is this little guy super easy to make, he might just be one of my favorite projects that I've created lately.

Leather + Cut Metal Necklace

Materials: 2 - 24" Leather Laces, 7 Metal Shapes, 6 large Jump Rings, PliersWithout any particular project in mind, I ordered these cut metal triangles from Etsy seller Geometric Land. You could order your own, or skim the jewelry supply aisle at the craft store for something similar. I bet you could also find something really interesting to use at the hardware store.

Begin by folding one of your leather laces in half and creating a girth hitch knot (yes, I Googled that) through one of the shapes. Repeat the girth hitch knot with the other lace and one of the other metal shapes. Join the remaining metal shapes with the jump rings, separating and rejoining the rings with a set of pliers -- one in each hand. Join the string of shapes with each of the other pieces using jump rings, as shown. Try This [Redux]: Leather and Cut Metal Necklace. I never really know which of my tutorials will strike a cord with people, but for whatever reason, my leather and cut metal necklace tutorial from back in July has been one of my most popular tutorials ever.

Woven Bracelet & Necklace. DIY Woven Chain Bracelet. Chain link bracelets, with colorful threads woven through them, have been popping up here and there.

DIY Woven Chain Bracelet

We adore Aurèlie Bidermann‘s Do Brazil bracelets and thought it was about time we graduate to the ultimate “grown-up” friendship bracelet. With a curb chain bracelet and some embroidery thread, we’ll teach you how to make your own woven chain bracelet. DIY Braided Hex Nut Bracelet. We’re nuts for nuts.

DIY Braided Hex Nut Bracelet

Is there a more versatile and inexpensive DIY component than a hex nut from the hardware store? You can imagine our excitement when we first discovered Philip Crangi’s Giles & Brother Hex Collection. Honestly, nuts braided into jewelry is WTF genius! DIY Braided Bead Bracelet.

DIY Gold Tube Bracelets. I have very vivid memories of walking into a bead store for the first time, almost 15 years ago, and being overwhelmed by the million and ten ideas that filled my mind.

DIY Gold Tube Bracelets

I was immediately hooked on the concept of transforming simple and unexpected elements into something beautiful and wearable. That moment was the catalyst for my eventual path into jewelry design and craft – my higher calling, if you will. Today’s tutorial takes me back to my first foray into jewelry making, where I’ll show you how to make two delightful bracelets using the same basic component.

DIY Friendship Necklace. As soon as Lauren and I saw this editorial in Flare Magazine, we knew we had to recreate these awesome, friendship bracelet-like necklaces.

DIY Friendship Necklace

We promise they are super easy to make and the perfect way to pass the time during those long summer roadtrips. To make a 2-tone necklace, cut a long piece of rope and wrap two different colors of embroidery thread around its own bobbin. Tie a starter knot along with the two colored threads you are using, leaving at least 3 inches of slack, Tape down the slack to a flat surface or safety pin it something that will help keep it in place (feeling nostalgic yet?). Lay the color that isn’t being used (shown here in purple) in your left hand, along with the rope, and hold them taut. Take the active color (shown here in red) in your right hand, pass it over the rope, loop it under and back through the opening.

To alternate colors, simply put the inactive color (red) in your left hand and the new active color (purple) in your right. DIY Proenza Schouler Rope Necklace. Lauren and I have been waiting for an excuse to use colorful bungee cords for some time now. And after seeing this Proenza Schouler necklace from their Resort 2011 collection, we jumped at the opportunity to recreate our own version of this amazing piece of jewelry! Start by cutting a 10″ and a 15″ piece of bungee (or climbing rope). Burn the ends with a lighter to prevent fraying. Then, wrap the middle sections with either twine or mason line using the friendship knot technique and use the hot glue gun to secure the ends to your bungee cord. (Click images to enlarge) Lay the center of the twisted cord in between the two pieces of covered bungee, twist twice at the top of the necklace and bring both sides down to create a small loop.

DIY Utility Rope Necklace. A couple summers ago, we stocked up on brass washers to make friendship necklaces. A year later, hex nuts became short in supply thanks to the hex nut bracelet. Today we’re all about compression sleeves, which are conventionally used in plumbing but also make for the perfect component for these statement necklaces. Striking, colorful, and fun, this tutorial won’t be able to keep you too far away from your local hardware store! You’ll need: Start by cutting the utility rope into 8 32 inch pieces. DIY Box Braid Necklace. The moment we saw Phillip Lim‘s Box Braid Collar Necklace, we were immediately overcome with a wave of nostalgia. Our memories of a neon, plastic box braid lanyard was suddenly transformed into a sophisticated leather jewelry component. Honestly, brilliant!
