I’ve been itching to make myself some jewelry inspired by Aurélie Bidermann’s “Do Brasil” line. Since I don’t have 300 Euros lying around, this looked like a design I could recreate on my own. I was primed to put together a DIY Tutorial for you all when I discovered that Honestly WTF had already done the honors. I picked up the gold necklace and the two bracelet chains from an antique shop for $5 a piece, and had the embroidery thread on hand. I only needed scissors and two bobby pins to see this project through. Pretty amazing results, no? Jump on over here for the tutorial. NECKLACE: I used shades of pale blue and turquoise embroidery thread, and wove through one side of the chain to mimic this necklace. CHARM BRACELET: This bracelet was already armed with charms. DOUBLE BRAIDED BRACELET: For this bracelet, I removed the charm and just used the chain. Photos: Courtesy of Ashley Weeks Cart

How to Make a Fork Bracelet I've always loved taking everyday items and making them into something interesting. Ever since I was a little crafty kid I loved devouring books that taught me how to make little dolls from clothespins, beads from rolled up magazines, and little fairy ornaments from wire and fake flower petals. The first time I saw my friend wearing a bracelet made from a fork a few years ago, I knew I had to try it (*ahem Carly ;)). I wrote up a tutorial a while back, but I've had some questions about the directions I gave so I decided to make a proper tutorial with a video!

Braids Braiding is a easy, medieval and quite practical way to make laces, straps, ties, and many other narrow wares. There are far more possibilities than just the simple 3-strand braid that everyone knows. Although there are many ways to make cords and narrow strips of fabric, this discussion is limited to a few of the most common braids made from a set of elements and using no equipment. Basic Flat Braid The elements are divided into two equal or nearly equal groups, and the outside element from one group is carried over the rest of that group and added to the inside of the other group.

Summer bracelets DIY When M. came home from her camp with school, she showed me this yellow bracelet she made with 'scoubidoo' strings. One of her friends taught her how to make these and of course I wanted to have a go at it too. Instead of scoubidou string I used strips of fabric for one and leather - what did you think?!- shoelaces in offsetting colors for another one. I believe both resulting bracelets look really nice. The possibilities in terms of material to braid with are endless.

YARN BRACELET DIY! See the updated version of this project here! This was one of my favorite crafts to make because it is really relaxing just like knitting and crocheting! This is just like making one of those paracord bracelets, except with yarn. I got some neato small yarn just for making these! Here is what you will be making: These are straight, but you don't need an expert to tell you that making them into a bracelet is as easy as knotting the two ends together (which is what you do..).
