Erndales N More: Crochet Chair Socks. Yesterday I mentioned that I had to make some chair socks for the legs of my dinning room chairs so my hardwood floors wouldn't get scratched.

Erndales N More: Crochet Chair Socks

These are really simple to make and are much more durable and last longer than the felts you can buy to glue on the bottom of the chair legs. I have made them from worsted weight yarn in the past - if using regular worsted weight I would recommend making the circle part that the chair rests upon in double thickness. Make 2 circles, slip stitch them together and then continue with the rest of the pattern. The ones I made on the weekend were made from leftover "Phentex" yarn - you know the stuff we used to make slippers from years and years ago. Crocheted Chair Socks. Summer Diamonds Toddler Dress.

After I made my Summer Diamonds Cardigan, I had a few balls of the We Are Knitters Cotton Wool left over and I just couldn’t let it sit unused.

Summer Diamonds Toddler Dress

At the same time, I had been thinking about making toddler dresses ever since I made M her Purple Princess Dress and had daydreamed quite a bit about dress construction. So it occurred to me to try and re-use the sideways diamond motif and construction to make a dress that hopefully draped correctly, and used the rest of the Cotton Wool yarn. And that’s how the Summer Diamonds Toddler Dress came about! Like the cardigan, the bulk of this dress is built sideways, using the diamond motif. The front part of the dress is one panel, and the back of the dress is another panel. I start with 57 stitches of a foundation double crochet row, just to get things started.
