Pokemon inspired Shuckle is made in 8 Parts: 4 Legs, 2 Large Spots, Head, and Body. This piece is worked in continuous spiral. Do not join Rounds. A stitch marker, such as a piece of contrasting yarn placed at either the beginning or the end of the Round can keep track of Round in the spiral. The Round stitch count (number of sits in the round), is given in brackets at the end of most rounds. Stuff as you go. Last weekend the clan and I headed off to Brookfield Zoo, one of the best zoos in the Midwest.
While packing, I realized I was looking at hauling five stainless steel water bottles around for 6+ hours. Not to mention lunch, snacks, sunscreen, etc etc. Oof! It was time for a redistribution of weight – and at 10pm with a 5:30am wake up call, I wasn’t going to be running to the store. One big ball of yarn and hook to the rescue! I made the first Stainless Steel Water Bottle Sling that night, and two more in the car on the way to the zoo (don’t worry, I didn’t drive). The kids carried their bottles all day long without a single complaint – and these are kids who occasionally moan about carrying their own towels to the pool.

His Mum and Dad have bought absolutely everything for him so a hand made gift was in order...and its in their favourite colour black so extra brownie points for me. Jay is worked with two strands of Sirdar DK black crepe. I wanted to use cotton but there was none in my local shop so opted for crepe remembering my Grandma's tip that it doesn't split like other yarns. To minimise holes and unsightly white filling against the black I doubled the yarn thickness and used 3mm hook. As per usual I like to freestyle. If you would like to make your own...
