I get so many questions about the art supplies and tools that I use and I do not always find time to answer all these question. Sorry for that. To make it up to you I made a overview of my favorite supplies. See below. Please note, I use high quality (expensive) tools now, I didn’t start with those tools. I hope you understand I don’t know where you can buy the supplies in your country. . • Pressing: Probably the most important tool for a printmaker is his press. The baren and hand press I use are made by my husband Woodzilla! • Rollers: I use Speedball and Esdee rollers. . • Carving tools: I love to use Flexcut carving tools.They are available in different sizes (even very small ones for tiny details). and separate or as set.
. • Paper: I’m really in love with speedball’s Arnhem 1618 paper. Some tricks: A plate to roll the ink is necessary but you don’t need something fancy. Dani Matoses, nuestro impresor de cabecera en Impresum, nos explica las ventajas de enviar a la imprenta un PDF antes que otro tipo de archivos que pueden generar más errores de impresión._ Hace poco me preguntaba un amigo si era correcto que un PDF de una página A4 pesara tan solo 8 MB. En pocas palabras, el motor de generación de PDF de Adobe remuestrea esa imagen para quitarle toda la información sobrante y además comprime, con lo que si elegimos la opción de PDFX obtendremos un PDF con el material necesario para que sea impreso. Esta opción es una de las múltiples cosas que al hacer un PDFX, el estándar para artes gráficas, nos brinda este motor de generación de PDF de Adobe. ¿Y qué otras sorpresitas me puedo encontrar? Si el trabajo es de poca complejidad y tenemos muy claro cómo va a ser la impresión del trabajo, no tendremos problemas.
