Nik's QuickShout: Create Instant Interactive Text Based Activities Creating computer based materials can be incredibly time consuming and also very frustrating as websites and web based content can change so quickly, that's why it is always so nice to discover tools like Textivate which can enable you to create instant interactivity using almost any text you find from around the web. All you need to do is copy and paste your text into the Textivate window and then click on 'textivate now'. Here you can see some text I have copied from the Goldilocks story which I found on the Project Gutenberg site. Now I get a range of different exercise types to choose from. All I have to do to generate the exercise is to click on one of the square and I instantly have an interactive activity.

When speaking to teachers about these black-and-white squares, it's so much fun to see the "aha" moments as we explore different ways to use scannable technology in the classroom. Guided Visualization Exercises Guided imagery techniques How to visualize.... free guided visualization exercises How to do a visualization exercise Some people are better than others at visualizing. Some people believe that they cannot visualize, but what they are actually experiencing is the inability to visualize on demand. very easy way for students to make collections of words related to a topic, they can work in pairs to brainstorm and revise words related to a topic. by rominapezzoni May 20

I loved this site because it is what we used in class to meet each other. The kids could use this to write the words they need to learn for vocabulary, They could use it to pick out the words the see that they do not know in a text, the most used would be the largest because they would write them the most times in this activity, based on the frequency in the text they are reading. This site could have many different uses and is great for every age. by jcampolo Jun 9
