Chris Dimond Architect South Australian builder APS Homes approached me to redesign the street elevation only of this proposed display home. A floor plan and street elevation had been prepared by other architects, but APS Homes wanted much greater impact with a design that would clearly separate them from other project home builders in this competitive market. My approach was to create a cutting edge design language for this home that gave it a clear identity within its market, and with design themes that could be applied to other homes in their range. Gow Hastings Architects - W Galen Weston Centre for Food Description The W Galen Weston Centre for Food (CFF), in Whitby, Ontario, is one of Canada’s first food education facility to bring the ‘Field to Fork’ concept to life. Arising from a cultivated agricultural landscape, the 36,000 sf building unites Durham College’s culinary, hospitality, agriculture, and horticulture programs to narrate a story about the process of making a meal from crop to table.
Home - Matter Architects Jonathan Smith of Matter Architects was the architect for the rebuild of our home in Castor Bay. He came highly recommended by friends of ours. When we first met him it was clear that he was an architect, because he was slightly dishevelled, very cool in a gentle sort of way, and knew how to use words like “negative rebate”. He listened very carefully to what we wanted, and then went and sat in a tree on Kennedy Point for a while to think about it all. We were so taken by him that this seemed charming rather than odd.
