I Am Now In The Muffin Loop

I Am Now In The Muffin Loop
I am so sick. Of myself. Do you know what I mean? I'm just fed up TO HERE with me. I feel boring, uninspired, whiny, ridiculous, apathetic, and just TOTALLY BLEH. I feel like white bread looks. Is it a stage or something? I was just going to write "I can't seem to get hooked into anything lately!" You know, I didn't have any real idea of what this ramble was going to be about but it actually came full circle for me, considering the recipe I'm going to toss out here. Let me just ask you this: have you ever had a muffin melt in your mouth? French Breakfast Muffins I never knew a muffin could be so exciting. 1/3 c. butter, melted1/2 c. sugar1 egg (preferably room temperature)1 1/2 c. all purpose flour1 1/2 tsp. baking powder1/2 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. nutmeg1/2 c. milk Topping (option: cut topping in half*)1/2 c. sugar1/2 c. butter, melted1 tsp. cinnamon Preheat oven to 350F. Braided Nutella Bread - Inspired by Charm We have been experiencing a bit of Indian summer these past couple days here in Central PA. Of course, this is the time I planned to do some baking for the blog. It never fails. Anyway, today I’m making bread that is slathered with Nutella. You can’t go wrong with that, right? I was doing a little searching on Pinterest and came across this recipe for Braided Nutella Bread from the fabulous Suzanna of Kokocooks. Lemon Crinkle Cookies I went to the gym yesterday evening. Anyone else ever done that before? Worst decision EVER.

Sweetheart Cherry Pies Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that have become a bit too commercialized I think. I like to keep this holiday simple… so I helped my son make and mail valentine’s cards & bake something special. (UPDATE: Sweetheart chocolate chip cookies with love messages for this year!) GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND BAKE!: PASTRY Last night, I decided to make one of my favorite cookies. These little pastry swirls are so delish! I usually use my favorite pie crust recipe, which I have previously posted, but I decided to try a pastry recipe by the Barefoot Contessa. Death By Oreo Cupcakes They are probably the best Oreo cakes I have ever tried. A lot of cake's that I have experimented with before are like a vanilla cake with bits of Oreo in them, which didn't really give them enough Oreo flavor. But these were a lot better. I used a dark chocolate fudge cake mix instead of just a regular chocolate cake mix, which went really well with the cookies and gave the cakes just a little more flavor. So, in this recipe there is Oreo's in the cake, in the frosting, and at the bottom is a Oreo surprise. That's right, you put a whole Oreo at the bottom of the cake.

tastes of summer Some foods just go together. Grilled cheese and tomato soup, creamed butter and sugar, garlic and caramelized onions… for me, I'm addicted to raspberry and lemon. So when I saw these bars last year, I knew I had to make them. A little less than a year later and I finally made the recipe. Tangy, vibrant, subtly sweet with a rich, buttery crust. These raspberry lemonade bars are the perfect summer dessert.

Don't Forget Delicious! » Blog Archive » Fastest Cinnamon Rolls Heat the oven to 400°F. Grease the sides and bottom of a 8 or 9″ baking pan with cooking spray. Combine the ricotta cheese, buttermilk, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla in food processor and process until smooth, about 10 seconds. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda and pulse in short bursts just until the dough clumps together (don’t overprocess). The dough will be soft and moist.

Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries These aren't anything complicated. With five ingredients, they take only a few minutes to put together. In fact, these were probably the least time-intensive food at my Cheesecake Extravaganza. Yet, I had more than a few people come up and proclaim their love for the finger food. You don't have to throw a cheesecake party to serve these....I imagine they'd be welcomed just about anytime! Another great party food, these can be made ahead of time. The Pastry Affair - Home - Peppermint Pinwheels & Giveaway! This year I decided to participate in The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap hosted by Lindsay of Love & Olive Oil and Julie of The Little Kitchen. The idea is simple—make three dozen homemade cookies and mail them to three lucky bloggers, Secret Santa style. A few days later, I would find my own mailbox filled with boxes of homemade cookies. And the best part? I could enjoy them knowing someone out there made them especially for me. When I first heard about this exchange back in October, I was immediately sold.

How to Make Margarita Cupcakes Cinco de Mayo will soon be here (May 5th for those non-Spanish speakers). Though it’s a Mexican holiday, here in Southern California, Cinco de Mayo celebrations are pretty widespread… mostly an excuse to eat Mexican food and partake in downing a few margaritas. We had a party last year for that very reason. These Margarita Cupcakes are fun for a Cinco de Mayo party, but they surely can be made for any festive, adult occasion…emphasis on adult. They do have a bit of tequila in them, so it’s probably best to keep them away from the little ones. Also in these cupcakes is margarita mix and Grand Marnier.

two-ingredient maple soufflé I know, I know. You read that post title and thought to yourself, Katy is clearly messing with us this morning. And then you thought, Seriously, Katy? You got us all excited for what is obviously some kind of very cruel joke, because who on this planet can craft a soufflé out of two ingredients?
