That's more often that it's found in any other chapter of the whole Bible! And in each of those seven occurrences it is used in conjunction with two other colors, blue and purple! For example, here's verse one: "And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses. " The noun "cloths" (in Hebrew = "beged") means garments or clothes or apparel or raiment or vestures or even wardrobe! So ... the clothing of the High Priest of Israel is being described, the Holy Garments for Aaron. Do notice that they are heavily accented with red or "scarlet! " In fact, today's verse highlights three colors; blue, purple and scarlet. And I've noticed this: they always occur in the same order! Blue invariably comes first, then purple, followed by scarlet!
