Chicago Police stop a car and detain an occupant. (AP Photo) After the notorious video of Laquan McDonald getting shot by Chicago police officers 16 times went viral last November, investigators have been making their way through the other videos of the scene. In doing so, they’ve discovered that three of the dash cams pointed at McDonald that day did not record video, and others had no audio. Now a Chicago Police Department audit reveals that many of the department’s dashboard cameras have been deliberately sabotaged.

FedEx Indicted For Failing To Look Into Its Packages To See If Any Online Pharmacies Were Sending Drugs. Back in March of last year, we were somewhat disturbed by UPS agreeing to forfeit $40 million to the US government for shipping drugs from "illegal internet pharmacies.
" Not that such drugs or pharmacies should be legal (that's a whole different discussion), but it's insane to pin the blame for the shipments on the shipping company, whose sole job is to get packages from point A to point B. In fact, we don't want shipping companies to be liable for what's in packages, because then they have not just the incentive, but the mandate to snoop through all our packages. Apparently, FedEx was unwilling to fall on its sword and cough up a similar amount to the US government, so the DEA and DOJ have announced they've gotten a grand jury to indict the company for delivering drugs associated with internet pharmacies. You can read the full indictment, which tries to spin a variety of stories into evidence that somehow FedEx "knew" what was in those packages. Seriously. How many times are articles like this going to get written? Police brutality? Watch this YouTube video. Police incessantly and unmercifully beating a man with batons and shocking him with tasers as he lays supine on a street pavement in Long Beach, Calif., is shocking and repulsive.
Sundry video versions of this incident, posted on YouTube -- have gone viral. It's the most infamous and nefarious example of police brutality so far this year in the United States - when this violent act was captured in early September of 2013 by digital dice and snake-eyed focus. In the video, a man wearing only a tan pair of short pants is repeatedly bludgeoned by batons and tased by three policemen. Another cop joins in this torture session, wielding a very long, nasty-looking nightstick. Albuquerque activists hold 'people's trial' of police chief over brutality.
Activists in Albuquerque have held a march and a “people's trial” of the city's police chief, to protest dozens of fatal police shootings.
Hundreds rallied in the New Mexico city on Saturday, some carrying fake tombstones, to denounce what they called a culture of police brutality and official complicity. It was the latest event in a vocal campaign demanding reform of a police department which has recorded 40 shootings, 26 of them fatal, since 2010. Reforms are expected to be announced in coming weeks, following a Department of Justice report in April which detailed a pattern of excessive, unreasonable use of deadly force against residents. Marchers said they needed to continue to pressure local authorities to prevent more officially justified shootings. “They say ‘justified’! The “people's trial” accused police chief Gorden Eden, who took over the department earlier this year, of failing to curb abuses.

WSB-TVHabersham County, Georgia, Sheriff Joey Terrell feels bad that his deputies horribly burned a toddler by tossing a "distraction device" (a.k.a. a "flash bang" grenade) into the playpen where he was sleeping during a drug raid on Wednesday morning.

This family was displaced from another home down here and apparently just moved in. " If his deputies had known there were children in the home, he says, they would not have used the grenade.
