Van Gogh's Paintings Get Tilt-Shifted (12 pics) After seeing how tilt-shift photography could make real world scenes appear like miniature models, Serena Malyon, a third-year art student, decided to simulate the effect on Van Gogh's famous paintings.
Using Photoshop, she manipulated the light and adjusted the focus to make us see these paintings in ways we could have never imagined. Amazingly, nothing in these paintings was changed, added or removed. The incredible illusions are all created by the magic of Photoshop. Update: Recently, I was able to get in touch with Serena to ask her how she came up with this idea. How did the idea come about to tilt-shift Van Gogh's paintings? Were you surprised by the reaction it received?
Why did you choose Van Gogh's paintings to tilt-shift? His work was also really interesting because his paintings include a number of interesting details that we could focus in on and make that the centerpiece of the painting. Do you have plans to tilt-shift other paintings? Serena Malyon via [Artcyclopedia] A Human-Sized Pin Toy, for Cheeky Interactions. Thefuture1.jpg (JPEG Image, 750x600 pixels)
An Online Graphic Novel by Daniel Lieske - Chapter 1 - The Last Day Of School. List of colors. Customizable Clothing: Unique 120-Zipper Dress Design. This convertible dress design by Sebastian Errazuriz is nothing short of stunning in any of its possible stylistic configurations. The wearer can simply zip and unzip along any of the horizontal zipper lines to convert their clothing in a matter of seconds. What might be most remarkable about this design is how quickly it can shift from elegant to sexy, a full-length, single-piece dress one could potentially wear to work into a skimpy, short-cut, two-piece number that could put some bikinis to shame. In between there are any number of other options for shortening the top or bottom or even leaving some zippers partly on and partly off. Despite the obvious benefits in terms of variable style, temperature and so on there are some clear drawbacks to this design as well.

I've always leaned towards browns, blacks, creams and earthy colors in home decoration, that's the boring in me. But, I don't know, I'm kind of starting to like bright colors more. Kaleidoscope kind of colors, like turquoise, fuchsia, pink, aqua, violet, yellow, orange... all combined together.
I admit that could be a bit retina-searing sometimes, but if expertly put together... it looks something like this... I am absolutely in love with the "Jester" sofa, and the paper lanterns. Even the fruit matches! Wonderful chair covers. And chest and bed covers! I don''t think we've had enough fuchsia and pink yet, so here is more. Striking! Love this blue combined with brown. A total fairy tale. Outdoors too? And on a completely unrelated note... How about this lunch box? Much love and color! This December, in a surprisingly simple yet ridiculously amazing installation for the Queensland Gallery of Modern Ar, artist Yayoi Kusama constructed a large domestic environment, painting every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas.
Over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color. How great is this? Given the opportunity my son could probably cover the entire piano alone in about fifteen minutes. The installation, entitled The Obliteration Room, is part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition that runs through March 12.
