The boys said, "Why is it so girly in here? " Here are the books I used. I really like Love, Ruby Valentine. How Do I Love You isn't really a Valentines book, but it has a great little lesson on how our parents love us. I tied it in with how God loves us. This was my favorite of the day. (tune: 10 little Indians) 1 little, 2 little, 3 little red hearts, 4 little, 5 little, 6 little red hearts, 7 little, 8 little, 9 little red hearts 10 little red hearts wiggling at me. (we sang again and wiggled at a neighbor and then at me) We haven't worked much on rhyming at Preschool, but I thought this would be fun.

(tune of 5 little ducks) 6 little Valentines I once knew, all lined up for us to view but the valentine that I like best, it is the one that rymes with ______ (bed- red, shoe- blue, stink- pink, brite- white, bean- green, mellow-yellow) I passed out a heart to each child and then had them bring them to the flannel board one color at a time. This set includes the patterns: AB, ABC, AABB, AAB, and ABB. Print these out and laminate so they can be wiped clean if they get sticky. The cards can be cut into individual cards or just leave four to a sheet. Children duplicate the first part of the pattern by placing the matching colored candy hearts on the colored hearts on the card. " We love this adorable chocolate kiss and teddy themed math printable from Musings of Me. Originally, we ran across the activity over at From the Hive and were thrilled to find out that this is just one of the awesome activities Michelle put together for the Valentine's Day holiday! We've featured this type of counting exercise before, but love the cutesy theme and thought it would be perfect for your holiday centers. Students are given a laminated counting mat, various number cards, and a basket of cards featuring chocolate kisses. To complete the activity, invite your kiddos to select a number card and place it in the designated space on the activity mat.
