5D Crystals Can Store Data Virtually Forever, Scientists Say

Researchers at the University of Southampton have recently announced that they are able to store and retrieve huge amounts of five dimensional data on quartz crystals. The technology has immediately received a cool nickname: the "Superman memory crystal" - after the "memory crystals" used as storing devices in the Superman films. I. How does it work?

“…the data is recorded via self-assembled nanostructures created in fused quartz, which is able to store vast quantities of data for over a million years,” explains a press release. That sounds complicated, but what it basically means is that, using ultra-fast lasers, we can now encode a piece of quartz with 5D information in the form of nanostructured dots separated by only one millionth of a meter. II. The team's supervisor, Professor Peter Kazansky, explained: Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) - Psychedelic Science 2013 Conference. Ultrasound. Approximate frequency ranges corresponding to ultrasound, with rough guide of some applications Ultrasound is an oscillating sound pressure wave with a frequency greater than the upper limit of the human hearing range.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is thus not separated from 'normal' (audible) sound based on differences in physical properties, only the fact that humans cannot hear it. Although this limit varies from person to person, it is approximately 20 kilohertz (20,000 hertz) in healthy, young adults. Ultrasound devices operate with frequencies from 20 kHz up to several gigahertz. Dr Marcel Vogel - Brilliant Presentation Regarding Therapeutic Use of Crystals - Part 3. Russell Targ. Fontes (born October 20, 1945) is an American psychology professional known particularly for his research in the fields of parapsychology and psychophysics. He received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology and India Studies in 1973 and in 1977 he was awarded a Master's degree (M.A.) in Psychology from Sonoma State University.[1] When he spent a semester studying Eastern Philosophy in India in 1971[2] he met an Indian astrologer who told him that in the future he would be conducting scientific research in the field of consciousness. Upon returning home in Spring of 1972 he was introduced to an IBM chemist named Marcel Vogel.[3] After spending several hours of conversation Marcel said, "You are the person who will carry on my research into plants sensitivity and human consciousness. " Marcel gave Fontes all the equipment he needed to begin the work. Research Begins[edit] Fontes began his research at Sonoma State University[4] with help from his adviser Professor Dr.

The most powerful and sought-after gems are rare Kaiburr crystals . However, though lightsabers are powerful weapons, their design is so flexible that practically any kind of crystal can be used. How To Steer Sound Using Light. Zap an optical fibre with a couple of laser beams and the resulting interference pattern causes an interesting effect–it squeezes the material, an effect known as electrostriction. This creates a compression wave called a phonon, a packet of sound, which travels along the fibre. Not to be outdone, phonons also influence light because they change the refractive index of the material. This bends light and alters its frequency, an effect known as Brillouin scattering. After that, things get complicated.

This mechanism sets in train a complex set of feedback effects in which photons generate phonons which influence the photons and so on. The problem is understanding what’s going on. That looks set to change. Today, Jean-Charles Beugnot and Vincent Laude at Université de Franche-Comté in Besançon, France, take a more detailed at look the problem. Their conclusion has interesting implications. The Glozel Stones. In 1927, a subterranean chamber in France was discovered, accidentally, by a cow.

The Glozel Stones

Full of mysterious artefacts, some of them Neolithic, the find was an enigma. Was it a mediæval magician’s store, a Templar treasure house or something even more mysterious? Patricia and Lionel Fanthorpe revisit one of their earliest investigations. Seventeen-year-old Emile Fradin was helping his grandfather on their family farm at Glozel, near Vichy in the heart of central France, when they stumbled – quite literally – across one of the most bitterly controversial mysteries of the century.

It was 1 March 1924 when one of their grazing cattle fell suddenly through the apparently smooth and stable surface of the meadow. The chamber was full of shelves and niches containing many ancient and unusual objects. In the years that followed, so many human remains were found in the surrounding area that locals named the place Champ des Morts (The Field of the Dead). Thermoluminescence.
