Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread - StumbleUpon. How do you make bread even better? You stuff it with pepperoni and cheese. Then, you bake it in a bundt pan that allows you to pull off little chunks and dip them in pizza sauce. This is the perfect thing to bring to a party (and I did, where it disappeared quickly!)

Or to eat during a football game. This bread takes a little bit of time to prepare, but in about half an hour I had filled my bundt pan with little dough balls, each with a piece of pepperoni and cheese stuffed within it. My new definition of bliss: warm dough with a cheesy center and a bite of pepperoni. Whole Wheat Noodles with Peanut Sauce and Vegetables Recipe. Whole Wheat Noodles with Peanut Sauce and Vegetables Recipe I hope everyone had a nice Valentine’s weekend. My hubs spoiled me with breakfast, gifts, and flowers. Since Josh made breakfast, I took control and made dinner and baked his favorite cookies for dessert-oatmeal chocolate chip. We also relaxed and watched the Olympics and the All Star game.

It was a nice, lazy Valentine’s Day. I recently posted my favorite vegetable spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce. The peanut sauce went perfectly with the whole wheat noodles. What can be more kid friendly than chicken nuggets, even the pickiest kids like them. Serve them with ketchup, bbq sauce or whatever you like to dip your nuggets into. Adults can serve them over your favorite salad for a satisfying lunch. Kids love finger foods or anything you can eat with toothpicks so when my daughter was young I would make her a dish of bite sized goodies she liked such as tomatoes, olives, pasta, etc. and served them with toothpicks and she always cleaned her plate! Once I'm in breading mode I usually make breaded zucchini sticks as well and bake them all at the same time along with some pasta and a salad for a complete meal. Double these for more or make half for less servings. Ingredients: Preheat oven to 425°. Put the olive oil in one bowl and the breadcrumbs, panko and parmesan cheese in another.

Huevos rancheros. I wasn’t even going to mention this dish. I’ve got no expertise in the realm of Tex-Mex cooking and generally think it’s best left to those who know what they’re talking about. Furthermore, despite the fact that I had eggs exactly this way daily when we were at a resort in Mexico last year, I suspect this isn’t the most authentic thing out there.

But it makes no difference because these ad-libbed and hodge-podged huevos rancheros and the smitten kitchen are at something of a standstill. They were dinner last Tuesday. Also, because they’re awesome. First, let me get my “semi-homemade” moment out of the way and I start by opening a can of beans, but by “beans” I mean Goya’s black bean soup, and no, I don’t feel bad about it. Next I make a quick salsa fresca with diced tomatoes, some red onion, a minced jalapeno, salt and a good squeeze or two of lime juice. Now, the egg is where this gets ugly, and I do mean that literally. First you heat a 6-inch corn tortilla in an oiled pan. Eggs in tomato sauce. You know when you see someone cooking something on television and your stomach nearly lurches into a grumble and you know instantaneously what you will have for dinner that night? Isn’t it even better when it’s healthy?

That’s what happened when I was getting a lot of work done watching the Martha Show a couple weeks ago and one of her producers came on to show a quick little dinner she’d been making for her family that involved a quick tomato sauce with eggs cooked right in it. It reminded me of the baked egg dish I cannot resist ordering when we go out for brunch at a deliciously Art Deco place in our neighborhood, that I still couldn’t believe I hadn’t tried at home. Especially when considering how ridiculously simple it is. It’s one of these dishes–like the huevos rancheros–that I feel silly giving you a recipe for because its so hodge-podge and easy, but just like those tortilla eggs before it, I have gotten hooked on this, making it for lunch nearly three times this week. 28 Dec 2011 One of the perks of being a student (and right now as I’m in the middle of college applications and interviews there don’t seem to be many) is that you get a long Christmas break. This is what I’ve done since Christmas: Stayed in my PJs all day. I got new pajama pants for Christmas (a tradition in my family). Directions: Lasagna Cupcakes. I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. As much as I like staring at Oreos engulfed in peanut butter cookies, I’m sick of staring at those things. But since it’s been almost two weeks since I’ve posted, I feel like I need to break the silence. It’s a little awkward. Like running into someone you went on a date with two weeks ago and haven’t talked to since the date. So hi, I’m here. I’ve been in a major food funk lately. It’s not like I haven’t been cooking. So to make up for my silence and guarantee we have second date, I’m sharing one of my most popular recipes over at Tablespoon, Lasagna Cupcakes, until I make something worthy to make the blog. These Lasagna Cupcakes have all of the classic lasagna elements with layers of meat, three types of cheeses, and pasta. I don’t know about your family, but in my family when we eat lasagna, we all fight over the corners of the pan because of the crispy and chewy texture. I usually use my favorite pie crust recipe, which I have previously posted, but I decided to try a pastry recipe by the Barefoot Contessa. This recipe calls for lots of butter! I used my 14-cup Cuisinart Food Processor (love it) to make the pastry dough. It's so easy in a food processor, so if you haven't invested in one, do so very soon! Make sure that you use only cold butter, and keep the pastry chilled. That is what makes it good and flaky. I might have gone with something from the market, or something from a new fall cookbook or maybe just something practical that would feed us for the next few days, like a hearty stew. Instead I went with cute. Like, unseemly cute. Borderline twee. I might as well tie a ribbon around them, had I any ribbon or the ability to tie it without yelling at it (it’s true; I’m ribbon inept), no doubt eradicating any sweetness in the gesture.

How to Make Peanut Butter SMores Turnovers | RecipeGirl.com - StumbleUpon. Peanut Butter- S’Mores Turnovers I’m not much of a camper. My husband often takes my son on camping trips, and I happily stay behind and thank the gods for our bug-free house, cozy bed and well-stocked kitchen.

I always send them off in comfort… marinate a little meat for them to throw on the grill, pack up some convenience foods and bake a few goodies too. When they return from their camping weekends, I hear mostly about the evenings sitting around the campfire. Story telling, snuggling in blankets, singing songs and roasting marshmallows for S’Mores seem to be recurring favorites. Here’s the How To: Thaw out a box of Puff Pastry, and cut along the fold lines to make 6 large rectangles. Layer 1/4 of a whole graham cracker, a piece of milk chocolate bar and a spoonful of peanut butter on one side of the Puff Pastry. Dissolve espresso powder in boiling water. Spinach and Feta Puff Pastry Bites Recipe : Review : Dave Lieberman. First applesauce | smitten kitchen | baby food. And so we started with applesauce. Well, technically my baby’s first “foods” were some impossible-to-resist crinkly paper from the examination table at his pediatrician’s (or whatever I missed in Mama’s First Tiny Mouf Fingersweep) and some diluted, organic, no sugar added prune juice, but we don’t really need to get into the rationale behind that, do we? Despite having baked more apple pies, tarts, crumbles, grunts, brown bettys, muffins and cakes in the last five years than most people do in their lifetimes, I’d actually never made applesauce before.

Needless to say, mastery of applesauce is a great trick to have up your sleeve when you a) have a wee one underfoot and b) live in an area where apples are pretty much the only locally-grown fruit available from October through April. I knew Elise would never steer me wrong, thus I turned to her recipe for guidance, nixing the sugar and lemon juice, as I understand we’re supposed to ease into the citruses further down the road.
