Kheper - metamorphosis and evolution

Welcome to the Kheper website. The word Kheper means evolution , metamorphosis , transformation , coming into being. But the rambling nature of this website, established in 1998, means that there are many topics to explore. Because my own worldview and interests have changed somewhat in the more than a decade the site has been up, there is obviously a difference in emphasis between some of the older and newer pages. The following links give a few possible starting points, but there is no reason to limit yourself to those; I have more at the main topics page or the Search page.

These two volumes provide a study of selections from the Talmud and traditional Kabbalah, including material from the Zohar which mimics and name-drops from the Talmud. Westcott's Sepher Yetzirah will be found in the second volume. Mathers' Kabbala Unveiled is partly present in the second item, but one of the major Zohar portions is omitted and the introduction is abridged. The Mathers' edition here is early and contains fewer footnotes than may be found in later editions. The Talmud displays evidence of influence from Avestan religious texts (see vol. http://www.billheidrick.com/Orpd/Sacr1917/SacredBooks.htm

Gnostic Society Library: Sources on Gnosticism and Gnosis

Almost all of the several dozen internet sites with collections of texts similar to our own obtained their material by directly or indirectly copying some files present at the Gnosis Archive. Ours was perhaps the first major collection of such texts to appear on "the web" in 1994, and thus has served as a source for others creating "their own" collections. Unfortunately transcription errors, typos, and primitive HTML formatting were present in the massive amount of material added to the Gnosis Archive in our first years; in a repeated process of "copying" they have been very widely propagated around the internet. Over nearly two decades we have made many corrections to these texts.

Liber AL vel Legis

The Author called himself Aiwass, and claimed to be “the minister of Hoor-Paar-Kraat”; that is, a messenger from the forces ruling this earth at present, as will be explained later on. How could he prove that he was in fact a being of a kind superior to any of the human race, and so entitled to speak with authority? Evidently he must show KNOWLEDGE and POWER such as no man has ever been known to possess. 2. He showed his KNOWLEDGE chiefly by the use of cipher or cryptogram in certain passages to set forth recondite facts, including some events which had yet to take place, such that no human being could possibly be aware of them; thus, the proof of his claim exists in the manuscript itself.

0. Learn first - Oh thou who aspirest unto our ancient Order! - that Equilibrium is the basis of the Work. If thou thyself hast not a sure foundation, whereon wilt thou stand to direct the forces of Nature? 1. Know then, that as man is born into this world amidst the Darkness of Matter, and the strife of contending forces; so must his first endeavor be to seek the Light through their reconciliation.

Liber Libræ sub figura XXX :: The Book of the Balance

The Magickal Review is here to provide high quality material, rather than large quantities of material, from the esoteric arts and sciences. We publish electronic editions of essays, poetry and classic works on an occasional basis, which have (in the past) concentrated on Enochian and Thelemic topics. The editorial approach is sceptical and open-minded, accepting that whatever value may inhere in magickal or “occult” literature can only be found through critical, non-dogmatic and circumspect study, not omitting serious practical experimentation. As noted, we dislike deadlines and consequently publish only occasionally . Highlights of our work have included serious and light-hearted reviews , classic poetry , a Qabalistic reference work and the publication of Enochian manuscripts , as well as the latest occult news . The best way to stay updated is to sign up to our mailing list.
