Paint like Arthur Rackham, with Sean Andrew Murray. Profile Sean Andrew Murray Url Biography Sean is the principal concept artist at Big Huge Games/38 Studios and a freelance illustrator.
He's been working for the past several years on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, an action-RPG that's due out in February 2012. All artists should look beyond themselves and their contemporaries for inspiration, both in subject matter and in technique. I love line work, so it's no wonder that Rackham is one of my all-time favourite illustrators from the early 20th century. Rackham's work was a big part of how I developed my own traditional and digital painting techniques, all of which rely heavily on good drawing and well executed line work. His style blended whimsical playfulness with dark foreboding, as seen in his many depictions of faeries, witches and enchanted forests. Galerie de travis37a. Haunting, black-and-white self-portraits by young Hungarian artist mesmerize Flickr fans. By Dan Havlik posted Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 7:36 PM EDT Noell S.
Oszvald does not want to be called a photographer, claiming she's "not yet one" in a message to Imaging Resource when we contacted her about her work. While the 22-year-old, Hungarian artist is, perhaps, being modest, the reaction to her surreal, black-and-white self-portrait photos has not been. After Oszvald's Flickr page attracted thousands of fans, her haunting images, which recall a Bergman film mixed with a Salvador Dali painting, have been featured on photo blogs and art sites around the world. Dramatic Finger Paintings by Paolo Troilo. Italian artist Paolo Troilo doesn’t use paint brushes to create these amazing and powerful artworks.
Instead of paintbrush he dips his fingertips in black and white paint and guides them across the canvas. Troilo tries to express the uncomfortable condition of being trapped in a void where the rules of society don’t apply. There are no dresses, colors, or objects, and we are liberated from useless accessories. His style developed one day, when attempting to translate his drawings into paintings. He found himself using his fingers when he couldn’t find any brushes. Like this: Like Loading... When the war began in 1939 and the horror or the Blitz began, Ralph remembers being woken by his mother to the keening of the air-raid siren. To avoid the Blitz in 1940 he was bundled into his fathers Old Rover with his older sister, Barbara and off they went to the rolling hills of North Wales.
At the outbreak of war, the government issued statements to discourage discourse in Welsh, afraid that its use could be perverted somehow by German spies wanting to send information back to the Fuhrer.
