[Please Welcome Our Guest] Karly from Buns In My Oven I have been a fan of Karly and her blog, Buns In My Oven, for quite some time now. So it's pretty darn exciting to have her here sharing a recipe with us today! Do you know what I love the most about Karly? Well not only does she share a ton of yummy recipes... but her photography is always just... well... perfect! I'm pretty sure she could make liver and brussel sprouts look pretty. I hope you'll head over to Buns In My Oven and look around... you are most definitely going to like what you see!! Salted Cashew Crunch Cookies  My lack of cashew-containing recipes here at BoB is not due to any lack of love for them. On the contrary, cashews rank right up there with pecans and hazelnuts for me. It just seems that they don’t find themselves in that many baked goods.

He rarely dislikes food I make, but on those rare occasions, his complaint is almost always, “it isn’t sweet enough.” I don’t care if we are talking about cookies or chicken, it all needs to have an element of sweetness to satisfy his tastebuds. Meatball Sliders: Super Bowl Food Whew! After 14 hours of flying, I’m back and sooo excited to be with my kids again. It’s was hard leaving paradise but all good things must come to an end. I was looking for a way to use some meatballs I had left over from my 3-Ingredient Sweet and Sour Meatballs and thought these Meatball Sliders would be perfect Super Bowl food.

Boston Cream Poke Cake Sometimes I think this website should be called, "I Dream of Cake". Because, in a way, it's kinda true. I'm always thinking of ways to make cake. Especially fun cakes that can be made with cake mix. And this is a fun cake. So, seeing how much I love the Oreo Pudding Poke Cake, I decided that the yellow cake needed some poking of it's own. White Chocolate Cashew Cookies Recipes White Chocolate Cashew Cookies are such a rich and indulgent cookie. You could use other nuts in this recipe, but I think cashews are rich and perfect, especially if you use salted cashews for a sweet and salty flavor. 14 Things to Know About Cooking Beans - A Mighty Appetite 14 Things to Know About Cooking Beans It's taken a long time, but a few years ago, I finally got to a place where cooking a pot of dried beans didn't make me run for the hills. Much of my education is based on trial and error, with a little help from bean experts such as Rancho Gordo's Steve Sando. During my schooling, I've noticed a dramatic increase in bean interest not only because they're a cheap form of protein but because they're good for you. (Hello, fiber, amino acids and calcium!) Below, the 411 on cookin' beans based on the lessons I've learned and secrets whispered to me along the way.

Salted Nut Squares  This is one of those recipes that I’m almost embarrassed to share. Don’t get me wrong. These little squares are quite tasty. It’s just that they’re so easy to make that it seems almost wrong. There’s plenty to like about these salty treats. White Chocolate Coconut & Banana S’more Bars From Top With Cinnamon This is a guest post from Johnie Gall of Dirtbag Darling. While most high school students hurry off to the mall or soccer practice when the weekend hits, 16-year-old Izy Hossack escapes to the kitchen. It’s there that the London-native bakes up creative culinary treats (photographing them with professional-grade skill) for her foodie-favorite blog, Top With Cinnamon. “I dedicate at least one day each weekend to blogging,” she explains.

Slow Cooker Italian White Beans 1 16 oz. pkg dry beans white bean (Great Northern) 4-6 garlic cloves, peeled and minced or pressed 6 cups water or low sodium vegetable broth 1 large onion, chopped 2 large bay leaves 1 1/2 tsp. dried basil or 1 tablespoon fresh, minced 1/4 tsp. dried oregano 1/2 tsp. fresh Rosemary, minced 1/3 tsp. cracked black pepper or coarsely ground 1 cup sun dried tomatoes in oil, finely chopped 1 cup cured black olives in oil, pitted 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil Cooks Note: Broth may be added to water to make six cups if the full amount is not available. Low sodium broth will help avoid toughening of the beans caused by salt. One half cup black olive tapenade or one cup ripe black canned olives may be substituted for the cured olives, but we recommend using cured olives for the fullest flavor. Wash beans and pick over, discarding any mismatched or broken beans or debris.

Rolo Stuffed Snickerdoodles « Rachel Schultz What is it about the simple deliciousness of snickerdoodles? Snickerdoodles = childhood. A caramel center is the perfect remix to this classic cookie. And Rolo’s are just the way to do it. This is the littlest effort ever required for a quite fanciful cookie. tastes of summer Some foods just go together. Grilled cheese and tomato soup, creamed butter and sugar, garlic and caramelized onions… for me, I'm addicted to raspberry and lemon. So when I saw these bars last year, I knew I had to make them.

Dinner: Tonkatsu I made a lovely dinner last night- I was going to bento the leftovers- only there weren’t any. After spending two hours playing football (or soccer), we were sweaty, sore all over, and HUNGRY. Well, actually I wasn’t all that hungry, but Joseph was. So.
