Drafting and Sewing Leggings // Stretch Yourself This series is sponsored by Baby Lock. For over 40 years, Baby Lock has been dedicated to the love of sewing by creating machines for sewing, embroidery, quilting and serging – all with ease-of-use, high quality and a touch of elegance. I’ve always loved sewing with knits, but recently I’ve developed an even greater obsession with it because of leggings. I’ve never had a problem finding leggings that fit (they’re all so stretchy most everyone can find the right size). BEACH WRAP FAQ and a Giveaway! *PLEASE do not post the patterns/ info graphics to Pinterest :)* This post is so long overdue. Over the last year, I've received *hundreds* of emails asking questions about how to make the beach wrap. And comments. Oh, the comments. I figured it would be easiest to make an FAQ post with an info graphic and then decided to giveaway a beach wrap I made that is too small for me (it was for someone else).
DIY Repurposed Denim Checkered Picnic Blanket — SUSTAIN MY CRAFT HABIT Before taking out my fabric scissors, I had to do some simple math calculations to determine the number of square pieces I was going to need for the blanket. I knew I wanted to do a quilt-inspired blanket. So here’s the math: Summer Romper for Kids When I dress my kids this summer, I plan to adopt a “one and done” philosophy. Rather than layering them up in t-shirts and shorts and tanks, I want to reach for one garment and go… And this Summer Romper for Kids is the garment I am going to grab! These Rompers are simple to make, fun to wear and so perfectly chic, I can’t imagine wanting to add anything else to the mix. Plus, the free pattern is available in seven sizes, from 2 to 11 years, and features adjustable straps and an elastic waist for a forgiving fit. I think I may have found the solution to the morning get-dressed battle, but I may have created a new bedtime take-it-off fight!
My Weblog Perhaps she'd like a little fabric house ? Mind you, I didn't make this one for my Mother - my Mother associates 'handmade' with being too tighty arsed to buy something, and anyway she'd rather have twenty quid to go to the bingo. Template, I've written the measurements for mine, but you can enlarge if desired, particularly if you are making one as a softie as shown at the bottom of this post.
Free Clothes Patterns Posted on | October 9, 2008 | 7 Comments I originally became interested in patternless sewing, many years ago, because I had a hard time finding patterns in my size. Nowadays, patterns in large sizes abound. Nonetheless, I still love my pattern free sewing. A Better Marker Pouch I made more marker pouches this past fortnight. First, a peek into our handmade past. It was well-loved and much-used, but it was never any good, to be honest. Very hard to keep markers from falling out in transit, and spreads over too much space when open to access those markers. I know that this is practically craft blasphemy, given how utterly adored these pencil/crayon/marker/knitting-needle/crochet-hook/paintbrush/cosmetic implement rolls are in the DIY world, and I apologize in advance if I am offending any Devotees Of The Roll, but they don't work for me.
DIY Tiny Tank Dress 31Jul It’s been a hot summer here and I have been meaning to make Bella some dresses for a while now. I finally drafted up a pattern for an easy tank dress that is perfect for warm summer days. The beauty of this little dress is it can be made with just about any fabric. I loved my first version so much that I made 6… all out of different fabrics.
