Drafting and Sewing Leggings // Stretch Yourself This series is sponsored by Baby Lock. For over 40 years, Baby Lock has been dedicated to the love of sewing by creating machines for sewing, embroidery, quilting and serging – all with ease-of-use, high quality and a touch of elegance. I’ve always loved sewing with knits, but recently I’ve developed an even greater obsession with it because of leggings. I’ve never had a problem finding leggings that fit (they’re all so stretchy most everyone can find the right size). Tutorial ~ Sweater Refashion I shared this sweater refashion at Me Sew Crazy last week. I am posting this here today just in case you missed it! {You will need} SweaterFabric Laces, Ribbons and buttonsMatching thread {How to}

Ombre Basket Pattern I am so amazed at the interest with this basket I used 9 colors and tried to achieve an ombre effect. The size is about three times larger than the chunky basket. I'm putting this one beside my chair for WIPs. Measurements 9.5 inches in height 12 inches in diameter Materials 9 different colors of worsted weight yarn Size L crochet hook Yarn needle AT Europe: Paris - Valérie Boy at Salon Maison et Objet It was love at first sight. A few years ago, I found the perfect light sculpture for a dark corner of my apartment by an artist working in Brittany named Valérie Boy ... It was the first annual pre-Christmas Salon de la Récup, that featured a few dozen up-and-coming artists working mostly with recuperated materials, taking place a few doors down from me at the Espace Blanc Manteaux. “Féérie Florale” was a six-foot-tall rectangular piece of white powder-coated metal out of which Valérie Boy had hand-cut a spray of flowers.

Silken Straw Summer Sweater I've always been surprised by knitters who put their needles down for the summer. How do they occupy their hands for those three months? I've wondered. Do they take up smoking? Even if I'd ever been able to break my knitting habit, I've never really seen a reason to. After all, some of nature's most beautiful fiber creations are best experienced on a hot day under the shade of a great big tree!

BEACH WRAP FAQ and a Giveaway! *PLEASE do not post the patterns/ info graphics to Pinterest :)* This post is so long overdue. Over the last year, I've received *hundreds* of emails asking questions about how to make the beach wrap. And comments. Oh, the comments. I figured it would be easiest to make an FAQ post with an info graphic and then decided to giveaway a beach wrap I made that is too small for me (it was for someone else).

DIY Plantable Felt Garden Box Hey, guys! It's Katie here. I recently made one of my most favorite toys for my kiddos and I just had to share! I have to admit, when this idea popped into my head I may have gotten a little overly excited. You see, one of our very favorite things to do as a family is tend to the garden, but since we live in the Midwest there has been none of that for many months now. Soon the weather will be warm and we will be growing goodies in the garden again, but until then this toy garden box will help tide the girls over.

Shirring + Posie=New Handbag Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent mine, as expected, buried in fabric. Cut, cut, snip, snip. You get the picture. New in the shop! I’ve been trying to get some new stuff in the shop. It has been hard getting my sewing mojo back with the kids home. But I made these… First 2 new cocktail clutches! this one: DIY Project: Pretty Cat Toys Every winter, my cat, JFK, who is usually an outdoor cat, gets a little bit crankier . . . well, a lot crankier. When he’s not sleeping directly in front of the heater or scarfing food, he’s begging me for attention. On my last trip to New York, I learned a lot of great tips from Grace and Amy, both experts at owning indoor cats, for keeping your cat happy. It essentially boils down to the following: keep them warm and cozy, give them plenty of affection and make sure they receive a sufficient amount of entertainment and exercise daily. After scouring my local pet shops, I realized that nothing was quite up to snuff for me visually.
