Things to Make and Do, Crafts and Activities for Kids - The Crafty Crow: Kids Handmade Holiday Like many of you, this year we are doing an all handmade holiday. This includes the kids! My sister and I have seven kids between us and working together we came up with a big list of all the things that the kids could make for their siblings, cousins, parents, aunt, uncle, grandparents and friends. 8 Ways to Kill Clutter in 5 Minutes One of the biggest reasons for the pervasive clutter in my apartment is a lack of time to deal with it. It takes longer to put a shirt away than it does to just throw it on the floor, so onto the floor it goes. As long as there’s a path from the door to my bed, I tend not to ignore and perpetuate the clutter. I’m increasingly realizing, though, that all the out-of-place stuff in my life can become a huge time drain. I spend precious minutes and hours looking for things that could be easily avoided by a better system, and a few minutes devoted to staying organized. In an effort to become more organized, especially in my personal space, I’ve found a few methods that can help even the busiest of us to get organized, or at least get the organization ball rolling, in only a few minutes.

Jeppe Hein's Quirky 'Social Benches' are Interactive Sculptures That Engage the Public Jeppe Hein has re-imagined the average public bench by creating a series of modified benches that open up discussion about social behavior in urban spaces. The Danish artist took the form of a typical bench and adapted it in different ways, using raised platforms or diagonal sections to alter the staid seat’s function. Installed in the seaside Belgian town of De Haan, the benches turned sitting into a conscious task. Their finished forms lie somewhere between dysfunctional objects and works of art. Hein aimed to open up a dialogue between those that use them and the people passing by about the often-overlooked social qualities of the common bench.

DIY Dry shampoo has been a MUST HAVE in my daily hair care routine for the past three years. I’ve gone through countless spray cans of different brands (Psst!, Tresemme, John Frieda, Garnier, Oscar Blandi, Batiste…to name a few), spending way too much for very little product. I started to use plain old baby powder, sprinkling it directly on my roots and rubbing it in, and I found that it worked just as well or even better at giving my hair added volume and combating greasiness. I continued to do this for months until one day I was at work, and I happen to catch a glance of my hair in the mirror.
