Strange an mysterious Sounds from the Earth - Mistpouffers, hum, bloop,Hell Hole, slow down, wow If you listen closely, you’ll find that the earth is full of sounds. Some are things that you hear every day, some are truly remarkable and some sounds hail from origins completely unknown. What follows here is a list of “sonic mysteries” for your pleasure – many of them include audio. 1. At various times during the summer of 1997, an ultra-low frequency sound that rose rapidly in frequency over about one minute was detected at 50 degrees S, 100 degrees W. Scientists dubbed it the “Bloop” (not to be confused with the “Boing”.) Although the sound matches the profile of a living animal, it is much louder than any known creature can produce. You can hear a very short recording of the bloop sound here. Some people link the Bloop to Cthulhu, a mythical creature from an H.P. The Bloop also makes an appearance in the game promoting the movie Cloverfield, and was also seen in the movie “The Loch”, coming from a giant eel. 2. The Taos Hum has been featured on the X-Files and Unsolved Mysteries.

Todd Lamb Notes From Chris Gallery Welcome to the “ Notes From Chris” gallery. These are notes that I post around New York City from a mysterious man named Chris. Chris wants to do tedious things with people. He also has lots of problems. “ Notes From Chris” is a project started by Todd Lamb in 2008. china51 Editor's Note: While this story has gone viral and has been picked up by the main stream media, we want to thank the brave Chinese woman who sent this to viewzone in early November and also to Haisheng Liu, who translated the text for us. With all the speculation we remind readers that the images and coordinates provided to viewzone were accompanied by an explanation. That's probably the smartest place to start. Haisheng Liu for viewzone.com I was asked to translate a recent submission to viewzone that contained the following images, taken from the google-earth program. Of course I checked the archives to be sure they are correct and noted the GPS coordinates so anyone can confirm that these things are real. The top of this unusual rectangle construction spans 5670 feet -- over a mile -- and the road-like structures are as much as 100 feet wide! Google now has a feature where you can view the exact location at different times in the past. What we were told in the email: Then there's this:

20 Images That Can’t Be Unseen Some of these will enlighten you, others will frighten you, and this one right here will ruin your childhood… via via via via via via via via via via via via via Seize the Day Seize the Day by Derek Lin Here's a puzzle for you: What do you see in this grid above? What do you think it represents? Okay, it's not a difficult puzzle. "Okay," you ask, "so what's the big deal?" When I look at this grid I get a chill because I'm used to thinking about one year as a long time. This grid is the layout of a typical table blotter calendar that you can find in any office supply store. In any event, confronting the grid and contemplating its meaning is a sobering experience for me. How many more grids do you have? If I am lucky. When you see it this way, you come to the inescapable conclusion that, indeed, life is too short.

Dark Side of Oz Dark Side of Oz [Setup] [Similarities with Pictures] [Similarities] [Conclusion] [Pink Floyd Lyrics] I've done this experiment quite a few times, and I'll have to admit that there are a lot of coincidental events and themes. Released March, 1973 "Speak to Me" (Mason) "I've been mad for fucking years, absolutely years, been over the edge for yonks, been working me buns off for bands..." "I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us...very hard to explain why you're mad, even if you're not mad..." (Instrumental) "Breathe" (Waters, Gilmour, Wright) Breathe, breathe in the air. Long you live and high you fly And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry And all you touch and all you see Is all your life will ever be. Run, rabbit run. "Breathe" (reprise)

SHORTS - SIXTEEN SERIOUS QUESTIONS RAISED BY RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER! 1.) WHY IS SANTA SUCH A COMPLETE BASTARD? I'm going to say he has a chemical disorder, probably Bipolar. The elves sing him a very nice song and he's a total jerk about it, leaving the desperately co-dependent Mrs. Clause to patch things up. She looks fine, right? Less is the New More: Making the Most of Small Spaces Good Design For Living in Small ApartmentsAs people migrate to smaller spaces, good design helps a lot. This is something they figured out in Europe long ago, that if you don't have a lot of horizontal room you can go vertical. Tumidei in Italy makes some of the nicest stuff, like this unit with lots of storage under the bed. This unit just raises the floor high enough for beds to slide under. This one looks a bit clinical, but has two single beds plus a pull-out double bed in between. When you read in the New York Times that professional couples with children are moving into small one-bedroom apartments in Manhattan and sleeping in closets, perhaps this stuff could be useful. None of this stuff is cheap, nor, as far as I can tell is it available in North America, but there are ideas here that demonstrate how people can share a space and still get a little privacy, a good place to work and a lot of storage in a very small envelope. Like this?

17 cultural reasons why this European never wants to live in America Warning: If you are pissed off easily, don’t read this post. Although plenty of (American) commenters agree with me, I’m also getting a flood of angry comments and hatemail, but this is my (as always) frank and honest non-watered-down opinion, take it or leave it! Read on to the conclusion to see my positive thoughts about Americans before you conclude that this is Anti-American propaganda. If you are coming here from Stumbleupon or Facebook, please share this post with your friends if you enjoy it :). You may also enjoy reading my post about the 29 life lessons learned in travelling the world for 8 years straight, and make sure to look around the site for some language learning tips! Normally, after I spend considerable time in a country/city, I like to summarise my cultural experience there and tend to put a positive spin on it, as I did with Germany, Amsterdam, Brazil, and even Paris, which was actually a negative experience for me. This time I’m not doing that. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
