The National Strategies - Schools Since the National Strategies website closed in June 2011, a number of popular teaching resources have been updated and adapted to allow users to access them through the National Archives. A snapshot of NS Online the National Strategies website has also been archived by the National Archives Please be aware that the features previously available on the National Strategies site will not be available on the archived versions. Nuffield Foundation This site provides resources for teaching the use of mathematics and statistics. The resources are self-contained and can be used for any lessons where the context or skills are relevant. Nuffield Mathematics resources are divided into three levels and can be used to support a wide variety of qualifications, including Free-Standing Mathematics Qualifications (FSMQs), A/AS Use of Mathematics and the new Core Maths qualifications.

The Hands-On Maths Roadshow is a collection of hands-on mathematical puzzles, games and activities that can be brought by our Schools Liaison Officer, Frances Watson, to schools for a special maths event. Roadshow activities are designed to promote creative approaches to mathematics and strategic thinking and to stimulate mathematical curiosity (click here for more detail on the pedagogical thinking behind the Roadshow). GCSE attainment gap is revealed 20 February 2013Last updated at 12:37 ET The data reveals an attainment gap between poor pupils who attend outstanding and failing schools Twice as many pupils at the best schools in England got at least five good GCSEs last year than those at the worst, according to government data. Nearly two thirds - 63.5% - of those at schools judged "outstanding" by school inspectors got five or more C grades at GCSE, including English and maths.
