Carl es el fundador de la marca Carl Liu, es un diseñador industrial chino bastante conocido y actualmente trabaja como director partner/design de Idea Dao Design Shanghai. Obtuvo su licenciatura en diseño en la famosa escuela de diseño Art Center College of Design en Estados Unidos y Suiza. Mas tarde trabajó en el galardonado estudio de diseño Astro y Motorola por casi siete años antes de mudarse a China.
I don’t typically write in depth reviews of anything, and this time will be no exception to that rule. As always, I’d like to sum up my general thoughts on the book. Learning Curves (2011), by Klara Sjölén, Erik Olofsson, and Allan Mcdonald, is the amazing follow-up to the highly popular Design Sketching (2005) book, which I’m sure many, if not all of you reading this have heard about. if you haven’t, be sure to check them out.

During the “Summaery” exhibition back in July 2011 we asked Professor Bernd Rudolf, Decan of the Architecure Department at Bauhaus Uni Weimar, about the motivations of the modern architecture student. “It is still the case”, he answered playfully, “ that they all want to make the world a better place. That remains the principle reason for studying architecture…” To this end six professors from the HFBK design department each invited a design professional along who presented their view on design, the design process and for all why. The high-calibre line-up featuring Andrej Kupetz, Axel Kufus , Jaime Hayon, Nienke Klunder, Christoph Schäfer, Andreas Brandolini and Peter Kubelka. (As a small administrative note: on account of the event “somewhat” over-running and our pressing need to catch a train to Berlin, we missed Peter Kubelka.

The Komb House was Karim Rashid’s concept house exhibition at Le Marche exhibition, which took place in Cairo, Egypt, in December 2010. Designed to have a minimum impact on the environment, the Komb House is a dwelling that utilises technology to create traditions, customs, and a sense of family and community. Incorporated within the house are ecological concepts like solar panel heated water, energy efficient appliances, the reuse of pluvial and grey water, low energy LED lighting, and raised radiant flooring.

Gracias a...Markus Ronjam "Car designer and entrepreneur Henrik Fisker made his name in the car industry designing the highest of the high-end luxury cars for BMW and Aston Martin. After making waves in the auto industry with vehicles such as the Aston Martin DB9, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and BMW Z8, he decided to break away from this corner of the auto world imbued with tradition and start his own company, Fisker Automotive. Fisker’s first vehicle to hit the road has been the Karma, an impressively green, extended range electric vehicle with so many curves, your eyes are already driving it before you’ve even gotten behind the wheel.

La tipografía , la representación gráfica del lenguaje, es la herramienta más ubicua y universal del diseñador en comunicación visual. Sensibilizarse con la forma tipográfica, entenderla y aprender a usarla es una necesidad fundamental y constitutiva en todas las áreas de trabajo del diseñador, y en particular en las áreas de trabajo propuestas en este curso. Objetivo General: A partir del trabajo en taller el curso se propone un recorrido pormenorizado sobre los aspectos de diseño que son valiosos para la creación de logotipos y marcas y la creación de sistemas de identidad a partir del juego con tipografía. Cada área de trabajo con tipografía posee elementos y problemáticas específicos pero el conocimiento tipográfico puede transferirse desde lo simple a lo complejo para resolver con sentido cada prioridad de diseño. Cada módulo ocupará 3 jornadas de 4 horas cada uno.
