A HEAVY equipment operator has unearthed what appears to be a nearly complete plesiosaur fossil while digging in Canada's oil sands. The fossil dinosaur was discovered on November 14 and is now being examined by scientists at the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, who aim to have it removed from the site by the end of the week, the Syncrude oil company said in a statement. "This is a very rare find," the museum's Don Brinkman said.
