Ikonic: 150 real iOS icons | Radesign. Ikonic is a set of 150 180 pixel-perfect icons designed specifically for iOS. The icons are highly consistent, compliant with Apple’s iOS HIG and look sharp on Retina displays. Why I created ikonic In my experience of designing over 25 iOS apps, I found two basic issues with the icons sets available in the market: The icons within an icon set are inconsistent with each other – they’re a muddle of sharp, rounded, minimal, detailed, thick and thin varieties.

Even some of Apple’s icons are no different. Consistency is the hallmark of professional design and the lack of it would badmouth your design. The icons don’t come in Apple recommended size of 40 x 40 px approx. I created ikonic to address these two issues in particular. Why you should use ikonic High level of consistency in icon style and size makes your designs more professional.Apple recommended 40 x 40 px size means no resizing is required. Features Consistent and Minimalistic: Apple’s iOS HIG compliant: Easily modifiable: Specification.

The Secret Law of Page Harmony. “A method to produce the perfect book.” The perfect book. This is how designer-genius Jan Tschichold described this system. Not the ok book, nor the pretty good book, but the perfect book. This method existed long before the computer, the printing press and even a defined measuring unit. No picas or points, no inches or millimeters. And you can still use it. The Secret Canon & Page Harmony Books were once a luxury only the richest could afford and would take months of work to be brought to fruition. And they were harmoniously beautiful. The bookmakers knew the secret to the perfect book. So elegant is this method of producing harmony that a few designers saw to rediscover it. They found the way to design a harmonious page.

There’s a dance to all this Let’s look at this dance, shall we? And here it is with them (using the Van de Graaf Canon and Tschichold’s recommended 2:3 page-size ratio, which we’ll get into next). This is where the harmony is found. How is this dance beautiful? The J. Well. - StumbleUpon. Color Theory 101. Color Scheme Designer 3. Principles of Color and the Color Wheel. Add the right feeling and mood to your site using the color wheel, mix and match hues and create effective color schemes. The first color wheel has been around for more than 300 years and was developed by Sir Isaac Newton, according to ColourLovers.

Other color charts, though, existed before that time. The basic design has evolved over time but the concept remains the same – almost any color combination from the wheel will work together. A basic color wheel features 12 colors that can be combined in a variety of ways to create a number of different effects. Colors can complement one another, or even create chaos. Expanded color wheels build on this design and add equal variants of color around the wheel. Types of Color The basic principle of the color wheel starts with three primary colors – red, yellow and blue. Secondary colors are made by mixing two primary colors from the color wheel. The last group of hues, tertiary colors, is made from mixing a primary and secondary color.
