The new initiative builds on the Hawkey family’s commitment to responsible tourism which has seen them convert to solar energy to power their 30 self-catering cottages, swimming pool and farm buildings.
Andrew Hawkey from The Olde House said: “It typically takes a minimum of four hours for an electric car to charge, so it is ideal for owners to power their cars whilst they stay in one of our traditional cottages. “It is important to us that we do all we can to be energy efficient; all our electricity is generated by our solar panels and with the addition of these new charge points, we are looking into electric-powered vehicles for our staff to use around our farm.”
