The design of our urban environments have as much to do (or more) with the way we live as our individual stylistic and functional choices for homes and houses – these designs take on urban living at the largest of scales with images, ideas and plans that impact every one of us within our local and global communities.

http://www.formfiftyfive.com/ What the FFF? Founded in 2005 by an ever growing group of young designers and vagabonds eager to collect and share the best design work they came across, FormFiftyFive soon became an international showcase of creative work. Although the site was doing a great job at sparking creativity, we felt it could, and should, be even bigger and better. So we spent many moons working on a brand new FormFiftyFive, still high in eye (and brain) candy, but with a brand new look and lots of new features that dig even deeper into what’s happening in the design community. We’ve also added more interactive elements on the site so people can exchange and store ideas more easily, encouraging collaboration and making the site more than just another design blog. So have a look round, if you see something you love or hate be sure to comment, and drop us a line if there’s a juicy bit of creative gold you’d like to see on here.

Meteor is a set of new technologies for building top-quality web apps in a fraction of the time, whether you're an expert developer or just getting started. I know that not many of you will have the patience to watch a video about programming, but I wanted to post this because I feel like this project is making accessible many complicated features of modern web frameworks and hopefully it will inspire new feature ideas from many designers. I'm excited to get playing with it. Blain's latest show Mergers and Acquisitions is insanely beautiful, a mix of paintings, design, furnishings and furniture. All on display at Hellion Gallery in Portland.

Get ready to go green. In this issue, we explore blurred boundaries between exterior and interior spaces, including Carve and Concrete’s reworking of a square in Amsterdam and a tunnel-like pedestrian bridge by Tobias Rehberger and Schliach Bergemann & Partner. With Junya Ishigami, we examine the possibilities for architecture and nature to converge. Then we head indoors – but to spaces that access or accent the outside world at every opportunity, …

German design student Raphael Volkmer ventured south to Italy's Free University Bolzano for his design education. Noting that the average European household consumes over a kilogram (2.2 lbs) of chocolate every Easter, he's created " Calorie Bomb ," a veritable explosion of sugary sweet deliciousness. Like the hand grenade from which it takes its form, the "Calorie Bomb" is a fairly straightforward proposition... though I can't help but wonder if a foil-wrapped version might somehow function like those chocolate oranges that split apart when smashed. It's no incendiary avocado , but in case you're wondering:
