This picture has been sitting in my inspiration folder for months and for almost as long, I've been hunting for this shirt. When I finally found it, the price was more than I was willing to spend, so instead, I created a look alike using an old t-shirt. I'm very pleased with the results, though I wish I had made the braids a bit thicker. Thin braids and all, heres how: *Update* I have received many questions regarding the white shirt I used for this project.
My Dragon dress!!!! I can't say how much I love this dress.
I was going to a DJ exhibition that was happening tonight BUT it was canceled so instead I made a quick and dirty smocking tutorial for aznenchantress. What is smocking? It's a method of gathering fabric that provides stretch to an area.
This is the most easiest DIY ever! A very fun and simple DIY wrap-turned-scarf project that takes less than a minute to create and requires only one piece of fabric! materials: scissors, measuring tape, and a rectangular piece of fabric (approximately 60 inches long). Step 1: Fold the fabric in half from left to right. Step 2: With the measuring tape, measure six inches down and six inches over from the folded side.
A few years ago, when the hubby and I lived in Florida (this was pre-kids, so make that 5-ish years...) I bought him a button-up shirt for his work. The deal was that he had to wear blue or white button-ups, so I thought, "Why not both at the same time?" And I got him this: Apparently when he wore it to work, his boss told him he looked like a picnic basket, aaand the shirt was retired to the closet. Well, I don't care if I look like a picnic basket, so I decided to turn it into a tank top for myself!
I have these two t-shirts that I love. They're soft, comfortable, and have good worn (and sentimental) designs on them. But, I never wear them for anything other than around the house because they are large men's t-shirts and look completely shapeless on me. Then I found this great tutorial on YouTube for how to make a big t-shirt a fitted shirt! - T-Shirt Surgery: How to Make a Shirt Fit
Remember our trip to “The Bins” and the stack of clothing I bought for $18.20? My family loved everything but several items needed altering. Altering clothing, especially jeans, is easy and takes very little time.
